When does aluminum bleacher seating go away?

Do you think seating will be reconfigured at major college stadiums over the next decade, or will SEC stadiums still have many aluminum bleacher seats?
Individual seat, chair with back and Cupholder should be standard.
Most new NFL stadia have this as a standard seat.

That would lower capacity in pretty much every stadium

Neyland Stadium's seating capacity would dip below 100,000 overnight. Tennessee's stadium has the most narrow butt widths per seat for the least narrow assed people in America. Uncomfortable man touching.

If so, places like Tennessee wouldn't be able to claim expanded capacity by giving less room per number on the bench.

Fixed it for you.

I think most people are going to want more amenities.
I used to have season tickets. They moved me from the shade to the sun and I went stub hub after that.
Having 87,451 versus 78,451 will not make a difference to the experience.
Or 102,312 versus 91,452 seats.

Crowd noise and presence matters in college football

Chair backs will replace all seating in college stadiums (P5) in the the next 5-10 years. (IMO).
Attendance is falling so capacity going down will match the lower numbers overall.
After going to a game at Gillette Stadium to see State play UMASS in 2016 where all the seats are chair backs, I am on board with this sooner rather than later.
That is an awesome stadium and very fan friendly.

Money. Everything is about money. When it becomes more profitable to do away with bleacher seating, they will go away.

So will we see increase capacities?
Eventually demographic is destiny.
Live sports is a luxury item.
I would not be surprised if capacity goes down about 10% at stadiums.
Georgia Dome is loud at 74000.
I’m sure Sanford would still be loud at 89,212.

Attendance is not falling at UGA. Far from it.

If you aren’t standing and yelling until you get lightheaded you are doing it wrong.

Yeah I was going to say this . Our ticket prices on the secondary market have tripled too.

Attendance isnt falling in Knoxville, even with this being the first good year in a couple decades. We still put over 100,000 people in the stadium. If your Attendance is falling, you are doing something wrong.

So you think UGA and UT will expand to 125,000?

Attendance dropped at UGA (albeit a pretty small one) just last year. Tenn has also has seen a drop over the past few years after seeing them as well. Tbh I have no idea what y’all are talking about lol.

I remember LSU Stadium being half full before half time and most of the fans left was UT fans on October 8th.
