A&M beats Bama in a squeaker and somehow thinks they have some bragging rights in the conference.

Only team to beat the defending and eventual national champs? You bet we have some bragging rights.

Better question: is McCarron going to cry? lol

Considering that the only time he has cried was after an emotional come from behind victory, you better hope not.

I remember back when Ole Miss was the only team to beat the national champs in 2008. They started the next season in 2009 ranked in the top 5 with a highly touted QB. They ended up barely finishing in the top 25 and that same QB considered a 1st round lock before the season went undrafted.

Like I keep telling you Aggies, you can ignore my words of wisdom all you want, but this conference (especially the West) tends to chew up and spit out teams that come from nowhere to have a great season and then get cocky and unfocused/distracted in the offseason. Maintaining in the SEC is much harder than building.

History repeats itself. For reference, see:

2000 Alabama (followed an SEC title and #3 preseason ranking with a 3-8 record)
2005 Auburn (followed an undefeated team with an opening game loss to GT)
2008 LSU (followed a national title with a 3-5 SEC record)
2009 Ole Miss (explained above)
2010 Alabama (lost 3 games as a unanimous preseason #1)
2011 Auburn (went 4-4 SEC following a national title)
2012 Arkansas (went 4-8 after starting the season in the top 10)

Keep putting that target on your back JFF, and Aggie fans. It's gonna make the victories so much sweeter for the rest of us.

A&M is not Ole Miss. Argument invalid.

"wisdom"?

You're just being smug.

More like it'll make every loss y'all have to us sting that much more

You're right. They aren't the same. Ole Miss has a NC in the last 70 years.

Ole Miss also was usually the top dog in their state, not a lowly military college.

No excuse. If teams like Rice and what not were perennial powers back in 30s 40s and 50s, then A&M shouldnt have ha a problem

You mean back when A&M was sending most of its students into the military? Face it, A&M was NOT an athletics destination until relatively recently in its history.

And btw, A&M won a title in '39.

I think you gave A&M 10 too many points. You guys will shut down Manziell this year.

Ags weren't in either of those games.

Fail on your part to make a point, I'm afraid.
