I legit think NIL has made saban become disillusioned with college football. I just don’t think he enjoys coaching as much in a post-NIL world

Saban is slipping a little, he does not like the NIL deals and the transfers being eligible right away.
Saban seems to have lost a lot of control he was used to having and does not like the changes in college football, this he has told many in phone calls and spoken up to the NCAA also about the changes in football.
Alabama has more talent than anyone and the coaching staff is as good as it gets, it seems to be a problem from the top down, not the staff.
And if you have not noticed the changes in Nick, watch film from 3-4 years ago and compare it with Nick now.

Nailed it. No team chemistry because no real alpha dogs keeping the pack in line.

Nothing lasts forever. Saban is in his 70s and this is a young man's game. It's amazing he's lasted this long.

Holding Gibbs to 99 yards was an impressive stat for the defense. I have a ton of respect for Gibbs.

I don’t understand why they don’t have any receivers to speak of

Yea, BoB is pretty good at making sure Gibbs never gets more than 15 carries. Wouldn't want to keep any sort of momentum in the run game when you can run 3 straight drop backs with no WR separation.

Not trolling... I think age has caught up with Saban. Not saying he can't turn it around if he can find the right people to take on more around him, but at age 71 the mind doesn't have the stamina it used to.

I think you're right. They're loaded with talent, but sometimes for whatever reason a team just can't get it together like they can other years. Next year you may be another juggernaut.

I think it is what the NIL does to Team chemistry…these players are there for the money not because they really want to go to Alabama…they don’t buy in like they use to and I guarantee Saban sees the results. Not bought in, not listening, not scared to be cut, Saban has less control…
I think it is the same thing happening at A&M but with more dramatic results…

NIL has level the playing field some and the top talent is more spread out. There’s more parity this year in college football than there has been in last 15 years. There is 10 teams right now that has a legit shot of making the playoffs.

Two things I’d say.
1 - Strength and Conditioning. Teams have been able to run on Bama, our OL can’t knock people off the ball. Used to be a staple of the team, last few years isn’t.
2 - Coordinators unable to adjust. Offense is predictable, Defense gets beat by the same play over and over. The first is survivable because Bryce is so good at improvisation. The latter isn’t.

NIL and transfer portal has killed Saban’s control over recruits
This is false. Saban has finished number one or two every single year in recruiting the last five years. In the portal this year he grabbed the #1 RB, #2 Wr, #1 OT, and # 1 cb in it. It's player development and coaching. If you went by recruiting and the portal Alabama should be way above any team in talent.

the world, greatest coach of all time,
Saban only wins when he has superior talent. He gets out-coached on the regular. Malzahn did it a couple of times. Heupel did it this year. Kelly did it last night.
He had the best teams money could buy for years. Flat out bought and paid for recruits. The talent pools are getting even now. Nick is exposed when the talent is equal.

Its a rebuilding the rebuild year

Your correct he should win every single year because he has been paying for the best players since the 2001 recruiting class. He always has better talent. He is average at developing talent and isn't the best anymore at scheming.
