Read up on the 1966 college football season. That should tell you everything you need to know about Alabama fans' hatred of Notre Dame and the bias of the media.

The Alabama hatred of Notre Dame started then but the real reason it went ballistic was because Bear Bryant went 0-4 against the Irish......

Trolling aside, I'm looking forward to the 2029/2030 home and home series we have.

I’m almost social security age. Notre Dame has been coddled by the sports media for my entire life. That’s why I hate Notre Dame. And their fans act like they’re an Ala-freaking-Bama dynasty, but in reality they ain’t won jack in 40 years and wouldn’t have won that championship in a modern-day playoff setup.

ND is the guy who graduated years ago but never stopped hanging out with 16 year old girls, date raping someone seemingly every week.
Now he's older and running for mayor and all them girls are supposed to pretend they are little sluts, like he was such a stud back then.

Your comments disappoint me Prouddawg. I've seen all 4 ND vs UGA games starting with the Sugar Bowl and all of the Georgia fans I met were good people and good fans. I know the fans I met at our recent home and home series were that way and they enjoyed the hospitality they received in South Bend. Oh well.....

My dad (NO LIE) wrote his thesis on the bias of the polls toward ND. I kid you not. I saw a a lot of that in the 80s and 90s and early 2000s and personally hate those MFs but they are generally irrelevant at this point.

but I am noticing there is still a ton of hate for the yella-chrome domes around here.

and actually a disproportionate amount seemingly from Aggie.
what gives ?

I don't get it..."let's blame the team that got snubbed"

I'm not particularly a Notre Dame fan, but they looked pretty good throughout the year. In a power ranking, I'd have them probably at #5

Do we have "the 12 best teams" in the playoff without Notre Dame? no we don't (arguably without Texas and Vandy either)

the SEC can't even figure out which of their best teams to put forward

why is OU ahead of Vandy? Texas? Ole Miss played the weakest SEC schedule and played crap for OOC

Play-In games people...we need them. Let's play it on the field

If Notre Dame got to play Tulane this weekend, and Texas or Vandy played James Madison...as Wildcard games

I think you might be confusing Notre Dame with Alabama.

Notre Dame gets hate because they are the whiniest bunch in all of college football and expect special treatment

They choose to be independent and play a schedule loaded up with G5 and ACC cupcakes. They play maybe 2 or 3 real games a season and think they should be in the playoff if they manage win just 1 of those real games.

If they want to be independent fine. Pathetic to complain about a school getting in over your team when the other team owns the H2H win

Well, I’m little bitter about ND letting Brian Kelly come to LSU…jerks.

Aggies are especially salty about getting snubbed in the 2020 playoff selection. ND lost to Clemson in the CCG. They had their shot and lost the game. We had won every game except Bama early in the season. ND still got in. Felt very biased. I hated ND before that because of their independent status and unwillingness to play on a level field.

I'm still upset about 1966 even though I wasn't born until the nearly a decade later.

Back during limited TV appearances... Notre Dame was the only team that had their own nationally televised playback show on Sunday mornings (with Lindsey Nelson).

I'd bet way more people across the country of that age bracket associate Lindsey Nelson with Notre Dame more than they do Tennessee.
I was going to mention this. I watched it with my brothers when we could skip Church and then we would go play goal line stand on the bed (two on defense one with the ball). That went on until we broke something.

Very simple.

You either love or hate them..they are the most popular brand in CFB despite very little success recently. Catholic....most popular Religion in America...they are the "Catholic" team.

Honestly, I'd been softening toward ND for a decade and had begun half-pulling for them and respecting their history

But man, this week they've probably unraveled a lot of that fleeting support/admiration. Pathetic showing.

Well, while I certainly don't LIKE them...they were a nice and convenient way to get rid of a problem we had. Well, hopefully...
