At least we can watch our great moment in history in color, and not just black and white like poor OM fans.

Nothing in 60 years. Must be sad.

Can someone just tell me if he’s staying or going so I can decide if he’s good or not?

Just saw where Kiffin was in Auburn meeting with Cohen

Any idea when the official announcement will be made?

Going to abandon speculation here and state the obvious. If he was staying there would be a release. The Egg Bowl is tomorrow, your Athletic Dept would have been all over this and gotten something out this evening so it was everywhere by morning. I can promise you that announcement has been drafted for days and is waiting on send.

He may stay, but the fact that there is no official announcement means he hasn’t made that decision yet and probably won’t until after the game.

I’m good with either Kiffin or Freeze. Now, we start looking at Grimes, Lashlee, and lower tier coaches like that? Then I will melt real good.

Freeze with the remainder going into NIL has been my top... he can be a force now that paying players is legal.

Agreed Grimes, Lashlee, etc... and I'm bustin out the paper sack hat...

Where were you with that paper sack hat when Harsin was hired?

What's the Kiffin contract extension to stay?

Cliff notes:

15 million a year guaranteed for 20 years with annual raises equal to 1 and 1/2 times the CPI, performance bonuses for achieving goals starting at 6 wins, he cannot be terminated for any on or off the field issues, no buyout penalty for him if he chooses to leave for a better job, should he be sued or face criminal prosecution for any reason Ole Miss must cover all of his legal expenses

I guess Ole Miss has to hang banners even when they lose games, else they wouldn’t have anything

Bless their hearts.

No one knows because Kiffin hasn’t signed any extension, but he told someone he’s staying. Just not saying it with a signature.

Then it damn sure ain’t 100% that he’s staying.

You might get Kiffin. You won’t be getting Freeze.

He has more to gain (if he's staying) by holding out with OM until after the Egg Bowl and announcing Friday. One of 2 things happen. 1 if they lose to state they get some momentum back and show Auburn up all at once. 2 they win and do the same but also have the momentum from beating State.

Waiting is only making some fans mad but they will forget the second he announces he's staying.

Not sure about that, just thinking about the optics…
If you win then he announces, the perception is you have a coach who is looking but won the egg bowl. Yay. If you lose and he’s staying, you got beat by your rival who just had a better season than you and your coach is looking. Which tastes like shite, state fans have eaten that sandwich before and it isn’t great.

If you announce you’re staying now, everyone rallies. If you lose you still have the positive optics going into the game and the fans and players made up their minds to be excited before the game was even played. If you win, you’ve compounded that positivity and are rolling while State is frustrated and Leach makes his way to the hot seat.

There are also contractual reasons to wait until after the season to terminate your contract, but there aren’t any reasons to wait on signing an extension. Most contracts have very specific windows where a coach can terminate his contract without cause, and it’s typically after the last scheduled regular season game.

TL/DR: If he’s for sure staying it would be largely beneficial to all parties to make an announcement. Coaches don’t wait until after the regular season to jump because of the players or some ethical obligation, but because it’s in almost all of their contracts.
