Yes your 4th option. You’re a Texas fan and I know more about the hiring process than you? Texas was told NO by the first 3 coaches they offered. Sark is a fraud he’s just lucky he’s got a lot of money to recruit with but will still never win anything of value. He can’t even do it with the cupcake schedule. Good luck w your overrated QB this season

We've seen some pretty awful defense last three years. Don't know how anyone can pick us to finish in the SECCG until we start playing defense.

Cautiously optimistic. No holes on the roster.

Still expect to lose game 1.

It’s the first time we seeem to have guys on defense. But now we’re replacing a lot of O-line starters. Such is life.

Returning qb, finally some d-line depth and some safeties that are sec caliber.

If we can run and take a little pressure off nuss I think we’ll be good. But, I’m not getting pumped until we win a game 1 under BK, and I’m a fan of his. He’s made changes when needed since taking over and had some minor misfortunes but he keeps adjusting.

Defense will be much better. O-line determines the season. 9-3 or 10-2.

No O line, thus Nuss will revert to throwing multiple picks per game.

If LSU’s o-line ends up being above average, should be a 10-2 type season. Defense will be much improved.

That’s pretty much where I sit as well. Oline is probably the biggest key. If it’s solid we should be pretty damn good. If it’s really good, we should be a playoff team. Clemson game is really big, wish it were at home.

The fact that you need to be “assured” of this means you’re not very smart.

While I don’t know about 2019 being the best that ever lived… I do like that everyone remembers one of our seasons.

Trying to think but nothing is coming to mind… What aTm team should I remember? I would guess one of the seasons with Johnny but all I remember from that season is LSU sacking his arse

This is the most talented LSU roster since 2019 imo. As someone who knows LSU football extremely well, they are correct. I'll break it down as an avid fan that knows as much as there is to:

QB - Nuss obvious. Expected to make a strong 2nd yr leap after having played games even in 2021.

RB - Caden Durham. Stud. Despite having 2 high round OL picks, our OL was horrible at run block, yet he would turn what should be TFL into 30 yrd gains.

WR (stacked) -
Nic Anderson. 800 WR yards and 10 TDs in his only playing season
Aaron Anderson. 800 WR yards last year
Chris Hilton (former low 5 star/high 4 star) has been injured his whole career besides the last 2 games he got finally healthy. He had over 200 yards and 3 TDs with multiple 40+ yrd receptions in the final 2 games
Barion Brown: Returned 7 kickoffs for TDs in career, a 500 yrd a season guy at WR
TreyDez Green (former 5 star) 6'8" TE and big end zone threat

OL (only position I'm unsure of)

DE Have Jared Verse who has like 10+ sacks a season
DL Have a stud 5 star Dominick McKinley, big threat to clog middle

LB - Whit Weeks (best LB in SEC 150 tackles).
Harold Perkins will have similar Freshman year. Past 2 years our DBs have sucked. We got great transfers and 5 star CB. He had to drop back into pass coverage so much past 2 years that he never rushed. With a finally good DB field, he will be able to attack QB like he is meant to.

DB- Our 3 starting transfers had a combined 12 INTs and 4 FFs in 2024. 16 turnovers in our 3 starting transfers. (Delane, Haulcy, and can't remember other one from NCSt). 5 star Pickett is supposed to be next Derek Stingley Jr.

I really do think the floor is 10-2 next year. I feel very confident when I say this is the most talented team since 2019. Offense will have hard time matching 2023 considering Jayden is top 5 NFL QB and BTJ and Malik Nabers finished top 7 in NFL WR yards. That's almost impossible to top at college level, but it will be damn near as good.

The biggest thing for LSU was getting great DB transfers. That was huge as our prior 2 seasons were the worst DBs I have ever seen at LSU.

We got 2 or 3 guys that were OL transfers rated a 92 or 93 on 247. They are just by rating, very solid. However, I am not one to judge OL talent despite having watched football 14 hours every Fall weekend for 25 years, I still can't say that I can judge an OL unless he's laying pancakes as we watch the ball on TV, not OL.

Our 3 DB transfers starters had a combined 12 INTs and 4 FF last year. Just those 3 transfers accounted for 16 turnovers. I think we will be good at DB with 5 star Pickett too.

And Texas didn't play a top 40 team in the nation until Georgia week 8 and only 1 top 25 entire season. Ya'll played 1 team in the regular season that finished in the top 25. Texas was the most faux top 2 ranking I have ever seen in my life, and it shows when they went 0-3 vs Georgia and Ohio State. 1 fricking team in the Top 25. It was by far the easiest SEC schedule I've ever seen.

Somehow Texas always the most cupcake schedules on earth:
19__ to 2023: cupcake Big 12
2024: Literally played 1 top 25 team and 7 of 8 SEC games were the bottom 8 in the SEC (7 of 8 were bottom half, the bottom 8 in SEC). So 88% bottom half SEC and 12% top half
2024 CFP: Played fricking Arizona St and Clemson at home who weren't even in the CFP Top 12, then finally played a real team in Ohio St
2025: Play same cupcake bottom half of SEC again. At least y'all scheduled Ohio St. I will definitely respect that, but still bottom half SEC

2026 is the first fricking year Texas plays a tough schedule in their life. In their life this is the first time you play a string of tough games.

Man not sure if you're aware, but in the past 15 years, I don't think Texas would crack a top 10 program. This isn't the 60s and 70s. Texas hasn't really been relevant to ACTUALLY be a Nati threat. They made Semi's sure, but look who they played up to that point. Big 12 first time. Then 2nd time, Texas finished with 0 ranked wins in regular season. They only played 1 single team that finished top 25, Georgia, and they lost 2x. Their SEC schedule was entirely the bottom half. 7 of their 8 games finished bottom 8 in the SEC.

What I am getting at is that I never saw Texas as a remote Nati threat in 2023 or 2024 because I saw through them. I saw how absolute of a joke their schedule was, and when they actually played UGA at home, they shite their pants.

Texas has been a faux program for the past 2 years. Sadly it won't be exposed next yr (aside from OSU, UGA, and Florida) because they again have the entirety of bottom half of SEC on their schedule.

It won't be until 2026 Fall that they finally play a real schedule. A true SEC gauntlet schedule.
