He graduated from Bama didn’t he? He’s crimson through and through. You can tell by the way he is

Then came the bigger mess in 2019. He sued Barstool Sports and WorldStarHipHop over the infamous meme using his picture with a caption joking that he simultaneously looked like a child and a child molester. His lawsuit alleged negligence, invasion of privacy, and wantonness.
That period seems to be when the national Stingray phenomenon essentially ended. He didn't completely disappear, though. He was still doing occasional sports interviews years later under the name Steven “Stingray” Ray, including talking about Mississippi State football.
There was even a funny moment on the Barstool College Football Show in 2025 when someone asked, “Where is Stingray Steve?” The reaction was basically, “Didn't he sue us?” and they started reminiscing about the whole saga.
So yeah, if you're remembering the guy screaming HAIL STATE!, ringing cowbells, and wandering around SEC Media Days, that's him. For about three or four years, Stingray was practically part of the SEC ecosystem. Then the falling-out with Mississippi State fans and the Barstool mess pretty much ended his run as an SEC internet celebrity.

Pretty sure the state fans hated him and he got clowned a lot. He disappeared after that.

He is still a MSU fan as far as i know.
Back in 2022 he was driving from Tuscaloosa to Starkville every Thursday night during the season for booster club meetings. He was alive as of December of 2022 contrary to what another person posted.
