What would the SEC and the rest of CFB be like without Saban.

Imagine if Saban never coached at LSU. They were a wreck before he got there and he's part of the reason they've been successful for the most part this decade. Most likely LSU would still be near the bottom of the SEC like they were in the 90's.
Where would Alabama be right now? Saban revamped the program from a miserable previous 10 years. Think of how different the landscape of college football would be today if it weren't for Nick Saban.

Would have hired Jim Grobe in 2007 and run shite for the next decade, probably.

LSU's last national title is from the 50s then.

Maybe Bama would have more success beating Hugh Freeze?

A&M would have won 5 NCs. Only reasonable scenario.

Saban raised the standard of coaching in the SEC, and college football as a whole. Love him or hate him, you have to give him credit for that.

Probably the greatest achievement of Saban, and it should go on his tombstone, is that he drove Ole Miss to commit to its football program and unwittingly unleashed the Age of the Black Bear upon you all. The hiring of Saban spelled your doom. MUHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHAHAAHAHA!

We wouldn't have had to listen to LSU pine like we have since Jan 2007.

You could say the same for Bryant here. he FORCED everyone else to pick it up. Auburn never becomes Pat Dye Auburn if they are splitting with Bama in the 70's and UT doesn't run off Bill Battle. Spurrier did the same at Florida. He forced the SEC to play pass defense which was foreign to our db's. Honestly as I look back on it he did great at South Carolina too but they have a ceiling.

Urban Meyer would still be at Florida. Florida would likely have a very impressive dynasty

Bear Bryant would not be an afterthought in Tuscaloosa.

I don't think so. This year's tOSU is following the same pattern that UF did in 2009. Prohibitive favorite to repeat, slops through the season and wins in unimpressive fashion, loses huge game late in the season.

I'm interested to see what happens up there next year. Could see them lose 3-4, IMO.

The main effect is that UF would probably have a half dozen titles in this millennium.
