Think about it, the MORE you REDUCE the # of teams, the MORE you INCREASE the # of conferences.

Your bold and underlines don’t make a real point.

Three are three 14 member conferences with 8 conference games.

You don’t know what you’re talking about.

Last year Auburn played (Final AP Poll):

#1 LSU
#4 UGA
#5 Oregon
#6 Florida
#8 Alabama
and
#10 Minnesota

AU finished the year at #14.

LINK

I guess last year just brought up "good memories" of past schedules.

Why play the game if you don't want a challenge from time to time?

There is nothing better than that feeling of competing against the best of the best, and not knowing the outcome until it is done.

This is why we watch this sport year after year.

It is simply beautiful to behold.

You may not win it all every year, but who cares? It is just plain fun, as it should be.

Yes I do...the SEC & ACC are the ONLY conferences @ 8 games...& both have 14 teams (however you consider ND).
& people b***h about the delays in playing teams.

Why aren't we @ 9 games?

another desperate plea from AUB fan to move to the East division.

Georgia Tech (National Champs)
AUB has 4 chances outside of SEC games to play Tech each season. bitch to your AD to schedule Tech regularly instead of Alcorn, USM or Umass - who each play AUB this season.

Alabama (National Champs)
AUB didn't play ALA for 41 consecutive seasons in the series. there is no other blood feud in the South that went 41 seasons without hated rivals playing one another. that's not anyone else's fault outside of the state of AL.

Every single year.

God, those were good times.

First you would need for GA tech and Fla. also Tenn and Fla St. to become bona fide teams and your school would have to become as consistent winners as the 83-92 tigers were under P. Dye.

Then you would...ah forget it! Those days are never coming back because AU and tech, Fla etc............

This has got to be the most complicated UGA 1980 joke I've ever read this month.

This.

Let's go hard with it. 9 conference games for each conference that has a championship game and require 2x OOC P5 games to be eligible for the CFP or NY6 bowl.

Leave a payday game in there for Georgia State or UT Chattanooga or whoever.

UGA OOC P5 games: GTU, Clempson
SCAR: Clemson and some NC school
UTK: VA Tech and someone (maybe Memphis if they ever go P5)
Gaders: FSU and Miami
Mizzou: Kansas and Illinois
Vandy: who really cares? 2 other nerd schools
Kentucky: LOLville and Indiana
Barn: GTU, Florida State

You do know 4 of those schools already play 1 of those OOC teams yearly.

Yes I do, so we are already moving that way. Mizzou is picking up Kansas again soon, I believe.

We played Murry State and Arkansas State last year. You wouldn't have traded one of those for Clempson?

The SEC would likely have to go back to a 10 team conference, which would be awesome.

Agreed. Four drains on the conference, especially in football. Go back to 10 teams.

1990 wasn't part of the time frame of the "historical schedule". It's no more relevant that Florida's NCs of the 21st century.

Auburn and Tech played every year from 1906-1987, except for one year during WW2.

1990 is pretty damn close to that time frame considering we only play SEC East teams not named Georgia only every 5 years now.

Move to the SEC East, request Alabama as a permanent opponent, then work out an absurd deal for Georgia Tech to play you every year - or rejoin the SEC.
