Has to be against Ohio State...up 21-3 against a 3rd QB with one of the best running backs to ever roam the earth....and instead of feeding him the ball allowing Lane to throw the ball with Blake sims....likely costing us a national championship. that loss (added to the pain because I was there) hurts to this day when thinking about it. That Ohio State team was a buzzsaw. They were a true team on both sides of the ball especially in that game. They got stronger as the game went on. Bama stayed in it too to the last minute. I think expectations may have been a little high however.

I'd say the worst loss rather, has to have been Clemson (2018).

I would further add that the loss to Clemson in 2018 was the revealing of when Saban lost his way. Saban no longer ran offenses out who played possession football. This also killed the defense and his commitment to making the defense truly great.

Tua was great against mediocre and lesser defenses but Bama started to lose against teams with a defense that had a pulse. I maintain that the 2020 team's offense was so good it could easily overcome our by-that-time lapse-ful defense. After Kirby & Jeremy Pruitt left, our defenses went steadily downhill.

Imagine if that Bama team got into a 4 team playoff. They would win the NC going away.

Worst loss was to Texas last year at home by double digits.

Saban most likely decided to retire because of that game.

How worse than other games mentioned? Not following this line of thinking here.

I'd pick 2010 LSU. They were a one loss team going into that one and had they won, would have had a little more edge to them when they played Auburn as opposed to just playing for pride. Win that one, get the rematch against USCe, probably win, and go to play Oregon and would have cemented that 2009-2012 stretch.

I met Cardale Jones back in the fall in Vegas. Super nice guy, told him I was not a fan of what he did to us. He said you got us back a few years ago. He is one big arse dude.

This was an underrated loss I believe as well. But, the scope of the horror of this loss was only confined to 2010.

I really hated it because we lost to a USC team we had no business losing (the worst loss we'd suffered truly before 2018 Clemson) to but we were still in it. Bama was the better team and we should have beaten LSU that day but that effectively ended the season for us. The Camback was the turd on the shite cake that was 2010.

Worst loss in Saban era was Jamo & Metchie.

Cost BAMA a natty and gave Kirby his only win vs BAMA.

If I was a Bama fan, the worst loss would’ve been the Camback.

And the magnitude of it all. Arch rival with a new (apparent) up-and-coming coach for a trip to the SECCG and most likely NC and the loss happens on a highlight clip that is still played throughout the season over a decade later.

But it really depends on what you define as “worst.” Is it the worst because of coaching? Worst because of implications? Sportsmanship? Score differential?

This is a subjective answer for everyone.
