I follow an account on social media that posts photos of days gone by in Texas. This was today’s image. The calendar posted on the wall says 1939. I found the photo to be especially powerful when you consider how hard times were. This family appeared to be surviving on biscuits and hard work. Comparing a poor child “back then” to children in contemporary society—pleading for the latest iPhone—is an eye opener.
Not really relevant to the purpose of this thread; just something that had me thinking as I viewed this post with the 3rd Sunday in Advent on my mind.

Not as different from today as you'd think in a lot of ways

Wow you worked really hard on this. With all the image searching, story boarding, image inserting. No small task. I imagine you used the desktop for this job. Cell phone would just be too unwieldy. Well done. Slow weekend though huh?

Babe Ruth retired as a Boston Brave, so the photo of Ruth in pinstripes at Yankee Stadium for his retirement isn't really accurate.

Yep. In a sport that has no universally agreed upon method of naming a national champion for nearly a century, shenanigans will abound.
Did the big 12 not have an agreed upon method of naming conference champs in 2010?

Hopefully not same spot Sandusky and his friends were touching little boys.

Those Morton salt cans haven’t changed much in 80 years.
