Bama's NC is forever tarnished. It's the "What if Colt had played?" NC. Heck, that freshman QB from Texas was marching for the go ahead TD late in the 4th quarter. Colt McCoy would have led Texas to more then 2 TD win. Everyone knows this.

Its not just the fact you are stupid enough to believe this that bothers me I would expect no different from you, its the fact that the last drive in the 4th qtr was never even close to marching anywhere. Do you just make this stuff up as you go or are you really this stupid?

What if Payton Manning would have got injured in the 1st qt. of the Superbowl. I don't think the Superbowl win would have been worth as much. Sorry Gumps but the truth hurts
Alabama's defense was too good for Texas' offensive line; Alabama made Colt McCoy ineffective.

frick Bama up the butt hole with a Super-Soaker filled with microscopic AIDS-infested piranhas, but credit is due, and credit must be given.

Alabama beat Texas so bad that their quarterback couldn't even play.

who is to say that's JUST the kind of pressure that Gilbert needed to play as good as he was capable of? oh, and labamafan, listen to the majority of LSU fans' responses. not TenTex or Manute Bol. neither of them have either the capability of being objective or have credibility. both of them like to start wars. seriously... who honestly cares to listen to the opinions of the overwhelming minority?

what, like 3-4 people in this thread disagree with the rest? maybe only 2-3?

say we had won in a game similar to how we beat auburn or UT this last year in the NC game. I wouldn't give a DAMN how we won, just that we're the ones holding the trophy at the end man.

roll damn tide to the few haters.
mad respect for those who don't try to take the win away.

They faced a perfectly healthy team, and then they made that team unhealthy.

But he did get injured. We made his arse quit by knocking him out of the game. He didn't quit based on something that Texas did. He quit because he got knocked the frick out by Marcel Dareus.
Exactly. McCoy was out because of Alabama's defensive excellence.

Alabama was too good for Texas to win the game.

The LSU fans don't really believe this thread. They aren't that ignorant.

This. The bottom line is that Bama won the NC. End of story.

Your right about that but if Colt would have played Texas would have won by a score of 48-10... because Alabama generated most of their points because Texas had a QB that had never played anything but high school ball

Had Oklahoma's Bradshaw not gotten hurt in the Texas game, Texas would not have even been in the championship game. See how this works?

Since when does Colt McCoy play defense? UT's #1 ranked defense gave up 100 + yards to not one but TWO Alabama running backs. UT would have been better prepared for a QB injury if Mac Brown had not kept Colt in games where they were up large to simply run up his stats so he could win the heisman.

How long was UT's offense even on the field?
I was drunk while watching the game, but it felt UTs offense went 3 and out every time they had the ball.

Not in the second half they weren't.

And that's the thing. When Alabama had to pin the ears back and go after Texas in the 4th, we forced a fumble to seal the game. Do you not think that Alabama's defense wouldn't have gotten to Colt after a while? Everyone bases Texas "blowing Alabama out with McCoy" on the first few plays of that game. We fricked up on that fake punt. Even then, Texas wasn't running us out of the stadium.

Texas had 12 drives that went 3 plays or less. They had 13 drives that went for 10 yds or less. They had 9 drives that went for 0 yds or negative. And their TOP was 26:21 to Bama's 33:39. And their #1 rushing defense going into the game, gave up 51 rushes and 2 - 100 + yd rushers.

Alabama had 148 rushing yards by halftime.
