The point wasn’t “Texas can’t recruit”
The point was Texas was in the Big 12. The only other school that could recruit on your level was Oklahoma.
Now you’re in a conference with not only Oklahoma but Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Auburn, Tennessee that all are recruiting at your level.

I'd argue that they are recruiting at their normal level and we are now able to recruit at a slightly higher level because we are in the best football conference.
We couldn't use that as a recruiting tool before.

It goes both ways. Texas has the talent to win on any given Saturday in the SEC, just like 4-5 other SEC programs. We’re not going to dominate the SEC like Alabama’s last decade but we can absolutely be a Georgia or LSU.
And whatever Big 12 softness you think plagues us will be beaten out of us in the next few years. Texas brand and money with the SEC patch will be a problem.

Did yall read what I was responding to?
Y’all have some chip on your shoulder thinking I’m saying Texas sucks. I'm responding to a guy that said most the teams in the SEC suck and they’re carried by the top tier teams.
Unlike the Big 12, you have a conference with 6/7 schools that can recruit at Texas’ level. Meaning it’s not just the top tier teams that carry this conference year after year. Those middle of the road not top tier match ups are now a lot harder than you’re used to.

You're right. That's a good thing. Especially with the 12 team playoff meaning 2 losses isn't necessarily the end of your season.
