We were assured of this last year, weren't we?

"2021 was a rebuilding year!"
"Texas will be a statement game!"
"We will serve notice."
"The Texas game will be a preview of what the longhorns will face in the SEC!"

I realize that you are not an Alabama fan, but crap.

there is no "us". I don't wear shirts that have SEC on the breast and I didn't attend the University of SEC.

Blows my mind why people pull for the other 13 teams thinking that it helps somehow.

It's hard to predict here, because both LSU and FSU return alot of talent and their QBs. It depends on which LSU team shows up. The one that played UGA in the SECCG or against the Vols?...they're in trouble. The one that took down the Tide?... it'll be a long night for FSU.

I've been around long enough to recognize the anomaly that last year was for both teams. Texas was a bit better than they have been, Alabama (especially early on) was not as good. Also as I said, this game is in Tuscaloosa. Texas does not play well on the road. I fully expect Alabama to thump them, new QB and all.

Gees...it sure is hard to start a decent conversation around here.

Most of these posters are pettifogging malcontents who employ kindergarten-level "logical fallacies" in a bootless attempt to look smart. Which is hilarious considering both that this is an anonymous board and that their alma maters speak for themselves.

There are a few posters who engage in good faith conversation / debate, but most are typing from their cloistered cubicles and looking to troll out of ennui.

Welcome to tRant, frick you.

That is what they said about your games in Columbia and Lexington last year, don't act like OU doesn't have a slugger's chance at home.

Comparing yourself to Missouri and Kentucky now? Damn, y'all have fallen hard from the pre Rose Bowl shite talk.

Overlooking a normal conference opponent and phoning in our game plan is one thing. Georgia would show up and shut down your program for emphasis.

We gave 2 shits about playing your conference's best team, and UGA set national records for the asswhooping unleashed. But no, .500 OU would beat us.

Alabama was actually, imo, worse than many like to admit. Yes, they lost two games by one possession, but, yhey also won 3 games by one possession, one of them by less than a FG.

Yes, they could have gone undefeated, but they also could have lost 5 games.

If anybody can right the ship, it would be Alabama, but they will need to do more than circle a game on the calendar. They need to get their physicality and fire back. Maybe new coordinators will do that for them.

I do, too, but I thought that last year, too. This is a pivotal year for them. They need to come back and make this a statement year.

Do you honestly think Nick Saban would want revenge on LSU and Tennessee? Those two teams are the one to be circled for sure.

I mean, sure, but at this time in their program, they can't afford to not come prepared and play their best against anybody. It almost cost them against Texas, Texas A&M and
Ole Miss.
I mean, now we have them circling Texas, LSU and Tennessee. And A&M and Ole Miss almost beat them with A&M should be improved with their young guys having another year of experience.

It's a bold move trying to talk trash to a school you lost to 49-0 on a neutral field, but sooner fans are bold people I guess... or, is bold the right word?

Mark this, Bama is going to have this game circled and it is in Tuscaloosa, Texas is not a good road team and Bryant-Denny is not an easy place to play, I'd say Bama going away.
Yawn. Heard the exact same thing last year and how 21 points was too low of a spread.

They needed a safety wiped off the board to beat our hobbled backup qb by one point

Nope, just pointing out if you have a bad game on the road to those average schools, you can get beat by a good one, nice try though.

Typical Shorthorn fan, you do realize this has nothing to do with the fact that ya'll will be run out of Bryant-Denny right? You guys had Bama at home in the worst game they played all season and couldn't beat them.

Yawn.. heard this exact same line of logic from Texas for 15 years, not going to change, it won't be close in Tuscaloosa.

Wow. "Texass" and "Shorthorns" On would think you had an inferiority complex or something...

Typical OU fan. Too under-educated to read literally the second thing you quoted

Yea, because Texas had their absolute best effort on hand with a hurt second-string qb. Your rejection is showing

So... something you say Texas fans said 15 years ago that was proven wrong is more relevant than something said less than a year ago that was proven wrong?

Holy shite. You are BIG mad about that 49-0 pasting by the school you couldn't get into. Sorry your own school had to run away from Georgia to avoid further embarrassment from "blowing and going" Venables

Apparently you couldn't get in yourself, as reading comprehension is not your strong suite. For 15 years does not mean "15 years ago". No, we have heard this from delusional Texas fans for 15 years...

A lot to unpack there... First, 49-0 was one game, OU has destroyed Texas multiple times in the last 20 years (including a larger point margin), did it suck, yes. As for getting into Texas, you couldn't pay me to go there. Nice try T-Shirt fan. And lastly, you lose all street cred with the last part. Lame attempt, you know as well as I do that the SEC pulled Georgia, but facts have not been your strong suit, so I should not be surprised. Enjoy your losses in Tuscaloosa and Dallas (in October).
