Longest losing streaks for each school are as follows (all SEC schools are represented, past and present)

South Carolina: 21
Alabama: 17
Tulane: 17
Vanderbilt: 16
Florida: 13
Texas A&M: 12
Kentucky: 12
Georgia Tech: 11
Mississippi St: 11
Auburn: 10
Arkansas: 10
Missouri: 10
Sewanee: 9 (in FBS)
Georgia: 8
LSU: 8
Ole Miss: 7
Tennessee: 6

Tennessee only losing 6 games in a row throughout its history is pretty damn impressive.

WTF was Alabama doing in the mid 50's before they fielded one of the greatest college football teams in history in '61?

This is why Ears Whitworth is the worst coach of all time. Bama was a GOAT before him in the 20s, 30s, and 40s

Same. On the flip side, their longest winning streak is 13, which would place them tied for 11th best (with Vanderbilt and Miss St).

To reinforce Genro's point, here's the on the field record of every Alabama coach since the Southern Conference (forerunner of the SEC) was formed.

One of them is not like the others.

Xen Scott 29-9-3
Wallace Wade 61-13-4
Frank Thomas 115-24-7
Harold Drew 54-28-7
Jennings B. Whitworth 4-24-2
Paul Bryant 232-46
Ray Perkins 32-15
Bill Curry 26-10
Gene Stallings 70-16-1
Mike DuBose 24-23
Dennis Franchione 17-8
Mike Shula 26-23
Nick Saban 105-18

Ears Whitworth : 4-24-2 (3 years)
Paul Bryant : 232-46-9, 13 SEC Titles, 6 National Titles (24 years)

Unreal - it's almost like he tried to be terrible.

1946 - 7-4

Harold Drew

1950 - 9-2
1951 - 5-6
1952 - 10-2
1953 - 6-3-3
1954 - 4-5-2

Ears Whitworth
1955 - 0-10
1956 - 2-7-1
1957 - 2-7-1

Bear Bryant
1958 - 5-4-1
1959 - 7-2-2
1960 - 8-1-2
1961 - 11-0-0
1962 - 10-1-0

Feels like you almost have to be actively trying to lose.

Hope he made some good scratch.

I don't think Ole Miss should count because they've never won 10 regular season games.

He was the line coach at Georgia in 1959 under Wally Butts.

He also coached baseball at Georgia in 1943..........and went 1-10.
