Bad reward to risk ratio. I would not want him as my head coach.

My opinion is that he’s an immature knucklehead who makes bonehead coaching decisions in game and won’t stop making himself look like a buffoon on social media.

He’s a good coach. He really cares about football especially offense. I think the players love him because he seems young at heart which is like the opposite of BK

He screwed Alabama out of a national championship the way he handled his departure for FAU. Great offensive mind. What he did with Blake Sims is one of the best coaching jobs I’ve ever seen.

So mixed feelings. Would be very leery of having him back in Tuscaloosa. Good luck to wherever he ends up. Unless it’s LSU.

Guy that coaches young men in a sport that is about to truly achieve generational wealth for a game.

I love football. But, damn, like most of these crazy sports player contracts, I can't imagine it being worth $16 mill a year for following a passion and excitement for a game when there are people out there truly risking their lives and saving others for pennies on the dollar.

Topsyturvy world. Good for him, in all honesty.

Great at developing quarterbacks. Entertaining. Gets way too cute at times. Sometimes pulls defeat from the jaws of victory. Leaves lots of points on the field. Has never seen a 4th down that he didn’t at least consider going for.

He knows that he and they have hit their ceilings.
I don't think people like him actually know that or realize that until they hit a wall. His next move, if there is one, may or may not make him realize that.

He'll flop at a bigger time program.
I don't think "flop" is necessarily true but the many, many million dollar gig will be disappointed with such lofty expectations.
I don't know Lane, but like Sarkisian, he has changed his life and I hope he can reap some rewards from it. We only play him once wherever he goes. I can pull for him without pulling for his team - wherever he goes.

If he ever outgrows the immaturity he could be a dominant coach. Hes been handed everything so young and never been forced to grow up.

He’s stringing UF and LSU along only to stay at Ole Miss. Auburn went all in on him last time and we had to settle. Luckily this time, we are targeting coaches who are actually in the market and serious.

Lane is the type of OC (and, frankly, it is the vast majority of OCs in college and pro) who would rather dazzle you with their brilliance than win the game.

But isn't the difference this time both LSU and Florida fired their coaches much earlier in the year than did Auburn? Plus, there are two going at it and not Auburn by itself.

Not a fan of him making this a spectacle when his team is about to play in the playoffs. He could have easily handled all this differently.

I respectfully disagree. I don't think he is making this a spectacle, I think he is making fun of the spectacle.

As a Reb, I only expected to have him 2-3 years, never expected 6. I do believe sobriety, the time in Oxford, etc. has made him turn over a new leaf, but a leopard can't change his spots and boy are they showing now. The flirt with Auburn pissed me off 3 years ago and this pisses me off even worse. To disrupt his kids in the locker room and the fan base is beyond bad. Screwing w/Lsu and Florida decisions is just bad personality to the core, even if I do dislike them, shows poorly on the Univ Of Miss. I'M READY FOR HIM TO GO NOW.

Great coach and flirt.

An anxiety disorder waiting to happen for any fanbase who wins his services for the year.
