If the SEC wanted the most money this year it should have kept one team out and let them play in the Orange Bowl. It paid out 27.5 million dollars and an SEC would have been eligible.

What's wrong with that? Outside of football he is probably a really nice guy. Glad we don't have a coach that smacks players on the arse when they do wrong.

Didn’t know that. That’s crazy they pay over 5x the next highest non playoff bowl.

Like I said I’m not sold but giving OP a theory I’ve seen. I remember people were big on this in 2008 or 2009 when Bama and UF met up in SECCG as #1 and #2.

I don’t believe this, what I believe is that we have an incompetent president in F. King, and we have a guy who is all about promoting and growing basketball and nothing else in Joe Alleva. Until those two are removed and replaced with people more competent and less willing to live with mediocrity, LSU’s program is at a stalemate.

LSU hired Ed Orgeron but it is the refs keeping them down. Haha ok!

I will take some of this. The reason is simple. Money. Bama is the face of the SEC franchise and they make lots of money because of it. It is just the way of P5 football now. Each of the conferences does this to a greater or lesser extent to ensure they get a team (or in our case, teams) into the CFP. Have to protect that money program.

I can remember when LSU played UGA in the SECCG (fairly certain this was in 2003). It was abysmally officiated solely for the purpose of keeping LSU in the national championship picture. Even I was embarrassed by the obvious slant by the SEC officials.

In regards to the total number of penalties called against Alabama, please. It is not the total number. It is when they do (or don’t occur) during the course of the game. When the score is tight, early in the game Alabama is apt to get more close calls (or non-calls) than their opponents. When the game is salted away (21 point lead or more late in the 3rd quarter) then flags will begin to come out against Alabama. This is not because the refs are told to. It is because everyone understands you have to protect the SEC brand. And right now that is Bama.

There is no conspiracy out of Birmingham. There is no secret communication or payoffs to the refs. Everyone understands what needs to be done. And they do it.

ETA: My bad. It was actually the LSU vs UGA game in 2009. Officiating was absolutely horrendous.

Very well said.

As Ive said in other threads, all people want to see is a fairly officiated game. Fans can accept when two teams laid it on the line and one emerged as the winner that day. But it takes away from the win when you have blantantly obvious shite that just happens to go unseen when the game is tight or when a team all of a sudden gets momentum. If you are going to let the players be physical during the game, you cant call some ticky tack shite at the end. THATS the kind of shite that pisses fans off to no end.

You're missing the point. I don't want examples of poor officiating or missed calls.

What other evidence do you fricking think exists. If there was evidence beyond that then top officials in Birmingham would be in prison.

You basically just said what other evidence exists out there except the evidence

You Alabama fans are a dumb fricking group of people

What is the reason Bama fans only believe LSU fans think this?

So please the 2015 Ol' Miss game where bad officiating gave Ol' Miss 3 TD's, including the game clincher where an OL was 7 yards down field on a pass.

What happened? REC check bounced?

Bama has been jobbed by the refs for years including the 9-6 game, the Kick 6 game, and the last Auburn game.

Did you even read my post? There are no “orders” to slant the officiating. It is simply an unspoken agreement amongst the parties involved. And it permeates the SEC. Same thing in the other P5 conferences.

Some have felt other great teams throughout the years may have gotten the same treatment against non contenders too

I can honestly say I have never felt this way. Even during the lean years, nobody was trying to keep Bama down. The bad coaching hires, meddling boosters and probation is what held Bama back.

It’s much easier to whistle past the graveyard and say LSU whines, or pretend last night was just a continuation of LSU fans coaches and players fantasy that the SEC and the REC are out to get us. The fact stands on its own and remains that LSU got ****ed in the arse last night by the refs. It’s just that simple. Of course Earth Wind and Fire......I mean Bama took advantage of it, who wouldn’t!

Did you watch the game?

Actively cheating, no

Terribly one-sided, damn straight.
