Americans most often love winners anyway, that's why there is a whole category called bandwagon fans.

Homie, every fan loves "their" team regardless of results. Doesn't mean you are a lovable loser.
I think if you polled pretty much everyone, they'd think of A&M as a laughing stock because they seem really cocky across all sports despite having never accomplished anything of note and always seems to fall on their faces in spectacular fashion.
