I'll go once, just because I have some third generation fan connection to it through my great grandfather. But that's about it

100 fricking percent. Your work/school week in the fall should be solely propelled by the excitement of being able to witness your team play on Saturday. And the very moment work/school has no immediate obligations, you bolt for that college town, away venue, place where you'll watch the game and you begin the party. There is no alternate plan.

Also, their women either need to (A) know football and be able to have a discussion about it, (B) make damn good samiches or (C) be able to do both.

My lady was born and raised a gator, converted to the Dawgs for me, and kept the faith the first half of this year's Cocktail Party. She knows how to identify a corner blitz, zone coverage, name the different offensive formations, and has class with some of the UGA players/feeds me info based on eavesdropping. Oh, and she's bangin hot Her arse is as good as married

I hope you're referring to T-town/Opelika/Auburn and not Athens

One of the primary differences between SEC schools and non-SEC schools:

- The entire state is your fanbase. They live and breathe college football. Most never sniffed college, but that doesn't matter. The state loves you. Pro sports take a backseat. That ain't gonna happen anytime in Mizzou.

When you know the name of the high school coach of the 4* OT your school is recruiting - you are ready for the SEC.

When the dread of losing to a conference rival outweighs the joy of beating that same rival - you are ready for the SEC.

When you realize tht the conference with the greatest players is saddled with the worst officials - you are ready for the SEC.

P.S. An addendum to the "It's all Coke" remarks. Some Southerners still have a preference for RC.

Ask UC fans that attended the 07 Indy bowl. As the game ended the Bama and Tiger fans chanted SEC just like they loved each other. The SEC is like a bunch of brothers that fight like dogs but stick together when needed.

I wouldn't trust my woman if she became an LSU fan. She went to Ole Miss and I expect her to keep cheering for them. Anyone who switches loyalty that easily doesn't care enough about their team.

Maybe you all could help us newbies understand what the SEC is all about.

You have a Waffle House in your city. None of that Huddle House bullshite either. IT IS NOT THE SAME.

We didn't extend A&M's invite last year because they didn't have one but I see that you have 2 so WELCOME TO THE PARTY!!!

The insanity never stops. If football isn't a prominent topic 365 days a year, you don't have the right culture. When the regular season ends, it's bowl season, and when the bowl season ends, it's recruiting hysteria. Recruiting hysteria goes to a new level on NSD, and we actually mock each other and get excited about which unproven 18 year old kids decided to play for our school. When NSD is done, it's time to debate team issues ahead of spring ball, then it's time to over-analyze every absurd piece of trivia that comes out of spring practice and break down the spring game (don't forget to mock your rivals about who had the worst attendance for their spring game. Mizzou is without a doubt going to get reamed for this). After agonizing over how your departing players did in the NFL Draft, the Fulmer Cup arrives and we take turns agonizing and making fun of our players and other people's players who run afoul of the law. Then it's Media Days, and then it's the regular season. Repeat ad nauseam for the rest of your life. Love every second of it.

Welcome to the SEC.
