I think the way people feel about the 3 Dave's is how I feel about Uncle Verne & Gary. As bad as they may be football wouldn't be the same without them

I watch a few documentaries a year, but I get tired of the subtitles/political leanings.

https://topdocumentaryfilms.com/

Watched a dozen videos in the last week.

Russian mobsters that are hardcore. Check. (Thieves in the Law). Seriously, there is a guy that tells his guys to stop talking so much, and they immediately shut up. Another lives in a 75 million euro villa on the Med. Mostly in Russian.

Slavery of women after the fall of the Ottoman Empire. Check. (Grandmother's Tattoos). Half in subtitles.

John Nash involved in the devolving of his mind (A Beautiful Mind). Check. (A Brilliant Madness). In English.

When the second closest is 1/3 less, it is an amazing streak.

Arkansasrazorback Great game SC Great game SC. I was so f'ing nervous the last few innings.

Just the last few???

Stanek (no, not stank autocorrect) did a yeoman's job tonight.

Said it last night on here I thought USC looked the best, and I am proud we beat you guys.

Great game by both teams.

After I do that, will head over to Hogville for objective opinions.

It isn't often I chuckle after being called broseph, but you, sir, did just that.

Who looks best in CWS?

I was impressed by Florida and South Cackalacky last night. Arizona looked good, but not as good as UF/USC last night.

Gonna say, ignoring regular season, as follows.

SC
Florida/Arizona
Florida State
UCLA/Arkansas
Kent State
Stony Brook

But they aren't made by Monster with gold, therefore, they are inferior.
Every time I watch it (again), without fail, "I don't even remember that!" Show is so full of little things that are awesome.

Selling house, second offer to lease...odd.

Posted by JDS on 5/24/12 at 1:22 am
Long story short. House on Internet for 2-3 weeks. Sign up for one week. Not overpriced with room to negotiate. Offers of lease to buy in 2 years. Everything says no, now skip to end.

Long story: Second conversation about leasing house with desire to buy. Believe first guy, phone calls, and said thanks but no thanks.

Second guy, only text messages. First, replied no thanks. Second came at 11:30 tonight. Offering small amount of cash down, then pay monthly amount (his number) for two years then buy.

End: I see this as a short term investment for them, he includes wife's name on text. We are flexible in purchase date, but this seems like they will buy at today's price, discount for non-OT baller thoughts of cash in hand, then sell in future for more.

Anyone interested in a Denham house with Pacific views?

Arrived today and threw it in the stereo. Most of it dealing with the end of his road and a decade of collaboration with Rick Rubin.

Still have to buy the physical cd, but man, is it good.

AV Club 2010 review.

AV Club gave it an A.

No, The Avengers is not overrated.

I know The Avengers thread exists...

A buddy of mine told me it was flawless, and I responded I was hoping it wasn't overhyped. Saw it today in 3-D.

A) It isn't overhyped.

B) Worth the extra to see it in 3-D.

Walked out of the theater and told him he was right.
Intelligent. Considered going to UA Law School while playing football. Plays with heart, so he will fit into the "Owah teahm has mawr hawht than youwah teahm."

Initial thought...yes.

On second thought, keep them contained, so, no.

This link is SFW, but some of the links inside are not.

First link....Game of Ponies. Not even gonna click that link. Image searched "horseplay" the other day looking for an image of goofing around at work. That was a mistake.
Saw it in the background of a picture on The Chive....had to check.

Apparently, they are remaking it.

No idea what The Marquee Blog is from CNN.
Hate using words like this, but it is meta....self aware. References abound from other movies, themes, at one point "REDRUM" is mentioned but in a way that you may not even notice.

I will buy just to watch again.

We got it. You didn't like it.
The reason you should see it with no spoilers:

quote:

GQ.com: You've called Cabin In The Woods a "loving hate letter" to horror films. What tropes particularly annoy you? Joss Whedon: Drew and I are enormous horror fans but we both lamented the trend in torture porn and dumbing down with characters falling more and more into stereotypes. Take the ad campaign for a movie called Captivity, where the billboard showed basically kidnap, torture and execution, in that order. That encapsulated the way I felt horror movies were going: they were becoming this extremely nihilistic and misogynist exercise in just trying to upset you, as opposed to trying to scare you. The classics that Drew and I went back to - the [John] Carpenters, the Nightmares -it seemed they had a different intent: it was not strictly about shock value.
Every critic said this will be a movie that you don't want to know about before you see it, and they were right. Camp, horror, sci fi, mystery....it has it all.

Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
