Thanks.

My worry is 2016.
SEC Rushing TDs 2016

SEC Rushing TDs Allowed 2016

Those were the same players in 2016 as we had in 2017.

I really believe that we are better in the trenches on offense and defense. But can our OLBs contain the run in the redzone (Bellamy and Carter couldn't in 2016).
Can our RBs make 1 guy miss in the backfield in the redzone?

Maybe I'm not worried about reverting to 2016 levels. But we were damn good at those in 2017. It took a second season season to be best in conference.

2016 was a transition year and those normally do not go smoothly. Kirby was tying to out physical teams but the S and C program hadn't taken full effect yet.

We won't have to rely on the run as much as we did last year. We will still be a power run team but Fromm will be allowed to pass more when teams stack the box. People forget that Elijah was the 6th best RB in the country coming out of HS. Swift was ranked higher than him and probably was still ranked too low. Cook is already drawing raves for what he's doing as a receiver out of the backfield. We're gonna be fine at RB in the RZ.

The defense may not be as good right off, but I'm told not to worry. We have a lot of good depth there, especially at LBer, and the young guys have been impressive. I think this team will be just as good by the end of the year as last year. May be better offensively.

Bama

Secondary is RAW ...0 returning full time starters. Talent is back there but lack of experience is gonna hurt us all year

Really hard to narrow it down to one for UGA.

We have SERIOUS question marks at:

QB - Fromm lost his crutches, Fields unproven
RB - Swift is a utility back, White injured
WR - true #1 Wimms is in NFL, no proven alpha
OL - Lost our best OL in years to draft. Lots of youth
DL - two best players gone. Seriously struggled recruiting here
ILB - Roguan gone, nuff said
OLB - lost two senior leaders. No proven production returning
S - Reed returns and is good, but Lecounte is a huge question mark on the other side
P - true freshman stepping in. Nervous.

HC - eerily similar trajectory to Mark richt and/or Will Muschamp. Hoping we can make it through the third year dip without the wheels falling off.

Secondary and front 7 depth. Bama is going to have to score points this year.

Two things:

I'm hoping we don't struggle a little bit on offense, but I'm in wait-and-see mode regarding Locksley.

And I seriously doubt we will be lucky enough to get matched up again against a team in the CFP that cannot even score a touchdown.

Most will say secondary for Bama.

I'd say special teams will likely be an issue

Our wide receivers, even though very talented are still very young. We will just have to see how they do.
secondary may surprise some. I hope.

I think Bama's WRs will be fine. Weddle is going to come in and dominate from day 1.

Is there no one on this board who knows how to spell corps

Technically Bama's LB corps and core are injured. So it still accidentally made sense.

So hard to pick because there are so many strengths

Oline would be my guess

I agree with some of that.
1) Can Fromm improve? It is easy to assume yes. But he was at a very high level in 2017. Throwing more on first down could be great and dangerous at the same time.

2) I'm not worried about RB unless other injuries creep in. This goes for every team. It only takes a bad week for a team strength to turn into a liability.

3) Ridley can do the Wims jump ball. Can he block like Wims? Add a 2nd year for Hardman, senior leadership for Godwin, and the addition of Robertson, and I am not worried about receiving other than their ability to block downfield (which was huge last year).

4) we are a slight question-mark at tackle. And that could bite us early in the season. I expect continuity and communication to make us dominant by season's end. But we have to get through the first month. And then to LSU without injuries.

5) Atkins will be missed. Absolutely. Hays replaces Thompson (probable upgrade in production). Injuries/attrition is the question-mark.

6) there is no replacing Roquan. Not going to happen. I actually see playmakers developing at OLB, S, and Star to make the big play. If it works, it will be different (missing Atkins fits this narrative, too).

7) Reed is underappreciated. Lecounte will be the real deal. My concern is depth. We rotated quite a bit last year. Who is first off the bench and how good will he be?

8) punter will be a downgrade. If we convert 3rd downs like last season, I'm not so concerned. But that is asking a lot.

My biggest concerns are tackle spots early in the year for offense.
And stopping the run as effectively on defense (we look very different up the middle... and are we stout enough on the edge to contain?)

Our only weakness will be the metal detectors and clear bag policy not letting people into the stadium fast enough.
