Keep telling yourself that Huckleberry. Kind of like people hating to do drugs by themselves, they want everybody to participate so they don't feel like they like the fringes of society.

Considering the level that Florida recruits at... and the other major schools in Florida that Florida recruits against

I can not see any likely scenario where they don't at least have hundred dollar handshakes going on... we already know they have get out of jail free and other benefits for former players on campus

I mean shite, Cam Newton went to Florida first... and they tried like hell to get him clean enough to keep on the team

Wrong. He was on his way out the door. Maybe it was because we had Tebow and Brantley so we didn't "need" him but he was going to be booted if he didn't bail on his own.

I bet Florida isn't mentioned a single time tonight. Unless it has to do with the 80's stuff that we already dealt with.

after how many frick ups again?

his grades? how many parking tickets? a stolen laptop?

you think a normal florida student would have had as many chances at Florida as Cam?

Come on.

His grades weren't bad, it was the fact that he cheated on 2 Exams

Parking tickets?

Stolen laptop? Yes. He was practically kicked off the team for this last straw. He was told to either leave on his own, or he was getting the boot. That's why many people cannot decipher between what really took place.

I don't know anything about parking tickets.

The student committee was going to off him for the cheating. He didn't stand a chance even if he tried to stay.

The only frick ups I know about about were the purchase/possession of stolen goods and the cheating in class.

He didn't get any chances. He left.

the west is on a whole other level of cheating. UTk carries the East, gaits do there part and we throw in a bball scandal. cocks are up and coming cheaters. UK bball though may help us get on west level. and i am sure vandy is cheating their arse off getting the next einstein there

Money is money, but there has to be some difference between a random booster giving out a handshake and coaches (allegedly) actively facilitating money transfers.

OK, now you guys have jumped headfirst into homer delusion

I would be highly surprised if most Florida fans doubt that FSU and Miami have played fast and loose with the rules from time to time. We know that prior to Spurrier rules at Florida were badly ignored (so certainly it has been proven to be possible at Florida).

While I think Spurrier cleaned up the program to some degree it remains a matter of degree. No reasonable person could look at things in the public eye (like Cam's time in Florida) and think Florida is running a program 100% on the up and up.

Do I think they are Auburn level dirty? No, never seen any evidence of that... but they are competing and recruiting extremely successfully against other major programs within the state or from other states with similar in state recruiting advantages (Texas, FSU, Miami, UGA, LSU, USC).

A reasonable assumption IMO is there are some hundred dollar handshakes taking place along with the law and honor code being applied differently to the Florida football players

The only schools accused of paying players is AU, LSU, OSU, and MSU.

How is the law being applied differently?

We have our share of arrests if you didn't notice. If the law was being applied differently wouldn't we be on the lower end of the arrest totals?

How is the honor code being applied differently?

Cam, was going to get axed by the student committee.

Come on man

is that what you think when you see arrests at UGA and UT?

It is my assumption that things like theft (stealing a laptop) and cheating would be against the honor code... not sure where the repeated moving violations would fall

If this was a one time frickup Urban would have declared Cam ineligible for a quarter against UAB. It took a laundry list for him to get the same treatment most students would have gotten much earlier
