What else do Butch Jones, Derek Dooley, Lane Kiffin and Phil Fulmer have in common?

Granted, Lyle switched to him just a couple of months ago (and not a moment too soon, as it turns out).

But I'm pretty sure the other three had him on their side when they were negotiating with the Shining University on the Hill (RIP Tennstud).

Pro tip for you Vols: next time, try finding an HC who isn't represented by CAA.

None of them lost to Ed Orgeron's LSU Tigers.

Like Auburn did.

Agents are such a waste of money for coaches/players.

Have you ever seen a list of his clients? That's a tall order. BTW, Sexton's family has a box at Neyland, true story. He's also an alumni of UT and his first client was Reggie White. If this is supposed to be insinuating Sexton is trying to destroy the UT football program, I'd say you're mistaken.

Sexton is a huge UT fan IRL. You'd think that he would cut them some slack.

I'm not insinuating that at all.

I'm just saying maybe this relationship isn't working out, and perhaps UT should consider other options.

For that matter, other than Saban, how many SEC schools' dealings with Sexton clients have turned out in the school's best interests?

Tuberville, Chiz and Malzahn were all repped by Sexton at AU (although I think Chiz dropped him at AU's request). Nutt at both Arky & Ole Miss, Muschamp at UF, Spurrier at SC, all ended badly from the school's perspective.

Mac's dealings worked out better for UF and CSU than Sexton's client

Sometimes it feels that way, but they usually aren't. Few players and coaches have the savvy to negotiate the kind of deals agents negotiate for them, and even fewer want to put in all the man-hours necessary to act as their own agent.

Sexton's job is to serve the best interest of his clients, not their employers.

So you're saying a UT alum has repped UT coaches and damn near every other coach with a decent job in CFB?

Since, "insider sources" notwithstanding, we don't really know what went down and why yet, I'll reserve judgement on whether or not Sexton performed poorly.
