The kid at UAB?

I have not heard so I assume he survived or they would have added a 4th murder charge.

John Robertson. He's still at UAB. The family has refused to release any medical info on his condition. Considering it was a gunshot wound to the head and he's still in the hospital, I would think he's in a coma.

Well I'm not going to sit here and argue with you why other people care about this. It was and is a big national story involving college football, and if you don't understand that, then there is no way for me to convince you otherwise.

Hell I didn't know this was his third felony. Try for repeat offender status if one of the felonies was violent = life without parole (at least that's the law here, i think)

I am almost a 100% they were nonviolent, but I am pretty sure one of them was criminal mischief, the same felony he is being charged with for the trees.

I am sorry, I don’t have sympathy for felons, especially repeat felons. It’s not that hard to not do felonies. He committed a malicious act, hell bent on destruction of property, as a side effect of the crime also threatened a water supply. BTW I saw that just the removal of the dirt in the immediate vicinity has cost over 80k already. His crime is going to cost well over 100k when all said and done. The financial aspect of the crime also deems a meaningful punishment.

This is probably what determines his fate. But the dude really belongs in mental institution.

He is NOT in a coma, he has a long road, but has been upgraded...

In all fairness...Chuck (and Buck, Mayhem, Archer) all were talking about it when it first happened.
Sportscenter had a story on it....dang Havey even made an appearance on that E60 "Roll Tide War Eagle" ESPN Special....

A lunatic fan does something really stupid and tragic...and gets to be part of the famed tradition of the two schools.
What's the world coming to....

Thanks for the update. Did you pull that from an article or a "friend of a friend"?

Make him pay restitution for the costs associated with trying to save the trees and replacing them if necessary. 3 seasons of cleaning the restrooms at Jordan Hare Stadium before and after every home game.

Just because you commit a stupid crime doesn't make you crazy. Why is everyone so sure he deserves some insanity plea?

Yes, they are just trees...but they are not your trees so dont worry about them. HArvey and his actions only concern AU...so everyone elses opinion is irrelevant.

This post is a prefect example of the problem with punishing him, you guys want him to suffer because of what he did to Auburn, not for the actual crime he committed.

He should get the same sentence that anybody else who spreads that much poison without a license would get.

This would be fine and dandy if he had that type of money, but it's safe to say ol' Harvey isn't sitting on a 6 figure nestegg.

He has admitted guilt. Juries don't sentence people, judges do.

That would include jail time, FWIW. Especially if this is indeed his 3rd felony as someone suggested.

He probably doesn't deserve a lot of jail time, but the more he gets, the harder I'll laugh.
