Oklahoma lol. Red River Shootout gonna be interesting because I dont think Texas is playing like a contender. Quinn Ewers is holding the team back. He's a game manager.

What do I think ? ESPN is trying, through propaganda, to control content regarding college football. And it's working.

All they have to do, as you see, is publish an article. Certain folks chase that content like dogs on a car.

I guess UGA is at 41% to win the seccg because they are 100% gonna win the ones before then. UGA can't loose!

With their schedule they have zero reason at all to have a loss before the SECCG

yeah UGA and OU have on paper the weakest schedules in P5. No reason for either to lose 1 or more.

Nah.. I don’t think so.

Texas or Oklahoma should be in the playoff if they are 13-0 or 12-1 and Big 12 Champs
Whoever wins that 2nd game would be in
(Both games would be in Dallas)

Michigan & Ohio State isn’t quite as easy.

Ohio State
@ Notre Dame
vs Penn State
@ Michigan

Michigan
Ohio State
@ Penn State

Penn State
Michigan
@ Ohio State

If Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State split..
and don’t have any other conference losses..
the tiebreaker will likely come down to the records of the 3 different conference opponents

Michigan
Minnesota
Pursue
Nebraska

Ohio State
Minnesota
Purdue
Wisconsin (should be better than Nebraska)

Penn State
Iowa
Illinois
Northwestern (likely hurts PSU)

Best record for those 3 opponents would send that team to the B1G Championship game..

It’s likely Ohio State. which is why they are probably so favored in the ESPN calculation.

It’s possible that Ohio State could get the nod at 11-1 (with a big win over Notre Dame) over a 12-1 Penn State or Michigan (B1G Champs)

I don’t think the ESPN FPI rankings are just propaganda.. there is an algorithm behind it imo.. plus if it was propaganda, Colorado would have greater than a 0.0% chance of making the playoffs

Who has other than Texas? I’d pick Smu to beat several sec and big 12 teams.

You’re right. This is funny.

You realize it’s that close because we also play @ uga?

if that ain’t the truth…

Their odds to run the table due to their weak competition is definitely why we see these as the top 2 on the list.

Or why Bama is favored by a TD on Sat. Mind blowing, truly.

Don’t have the stats, but pretty sure Bama is only around 50% on games they’re favored by less than 8 points. We lose a lot of games where we are a full TD favorite, and a decent amount where it’s between 8-13. We rarely lose when it’s over 14 points, for obvious reasons. But the ESPN predictor is pretty unreliable when Bama is favored by 1 score or less. (Ironically, we used to be pretty good when we were a slight underdog, but not sure that will hold with this team…they don’t seem to have any pride or fight).

Here is where they go somewhat off track. If you take the scenario where Ohio St loses only to Michigan and Michigan goes undefeated, Ohio St would miss the Big 10 championship game yet still have a 54% of making the CFP

If you reverse that scenario and Michigan loses only to Ohio St and misses the Big 10 championship they are only given an 18% chance of making the playoff.

The two variables we can assume is they are they are giving Ohio St a LOT of cache for beating Notre Dame and they are lessening the affect of the Ohio St loss to Michigan due to it being on the road.

Personally, I think in either of those two scenarios, both teams get in, especially considering its almost a given only one SEC team gets in this year.

Texas has the 17th hardest SOS, OU is 87th

Nobody has said OU has played a tough schedule. They are only one of 3 P5 teams that don’t play a non con P5 opponent.

I mean Wyoming beat Texas Tech and Rice beat Houston, a B12 team. Who has SMU, Arkansas State and Tulsa beaten?
