Not what he's hired to do.

Let’s be honest. We want a national title but if he:

-splits games with LSU

-beats Texas on the recruiting trail more times than not

-Has multiple double digit win seasons in five years

Then he will be earning every penny of his contract because we would have easily have paid Sumlin $7.5 million for those kind of results.

I don't know about winning the West the next few years, but Fisher is going to do well at A&M and I don't understand why so many Rant posters question it. I don't think they really question it as much as regret the distinct possibility of it.

Fisher has proven he can win it all. Your coach has not.

Aggie fans will have to be extremely patient.
He will make an improvement in the program, but when will they be better than Bama, LSU, and Auburn?
Then they will have to beat Georgia in the SEC Champ. Game or maybe Florida or Tennessee in a few years.
That’s a very tough road for any team out of the West.

Fisher will toughen up the Charmin-soft Aggies, which alone helps tremendously to improve the record. I think you will be surprised at the lack of coaching we had under Sumlin. Then the instant and long term boost to recruiting? Especially on the defensive side of the ball

Kyle Field hasn’t been an advantage because defense has been putrid. That will change very soon, and that can also only help

He has everything he needs to succeed. Stadium, facilities, support etc

His contract was a huge statement from A&M saying they’re tired of being mediocre in football.

I think his contract is a bit ridiculous
Though on how it’s all guaranteed. But it’s clearly a gamble, boom or bust, feast or famine etc etc. But it seems A&M truly believes Jimbo can do it.

I think it just makes other schools a bit uncomfortable on how they’re not willing to go all in. But then again not all schools have the monetary support that A&M does :)

I'm not trolling. Only two coaches in the SEC have won national titles, Saban and Fisher.

Outside of Crab leg thief's two years, he's basically Mark Richt at UGA.

That’s a really good hire. Miami, a decent program hired Mark Richt, arguably a top 10 coach in the NCAA right now. A&M hired a guy better than that. I wouldn’t be happy with $75 mil, but if your program is that’s a good, solid hire IMO.
