Then what are you complaining about? Alabama claims 17 and 12 of those were awarded by actual and major selectors in real time. The other five were claimed retroactively. Either way you slice it, at the end of the day, Alabama has more national championships than any other school in the FBS - and it isn't even close.

Correct. That's just ignorance. Because if one were to do even a modicum of research, they'd find that there are far worse claims to national titles out there. 1967 Tennessee easily trumps 1941 Alabama in the absurdity of its claim and '41 Alabama is the one rivals of the Tide generally point to when they talk about "fake" title claims.

Now name the schools in the sec that don’t claim ANY absurd (or near-absurd) titles.
Don’t worry, you’re definitely not making me mad. In fact. What you are saying goes against what many bama ranters on secRant go on about. I’m impressed by the honesty, honestly.

Did you know that even those early NC won by Alabama, Alabama played in a bowl?
25- Rose, 26- Rose, 30- Rose, 35- Rose, 41- Cotton.
Of all the teams that claim NCs before 1970, Alabama is the ONLY one that can claim that all their teams played in a Bowl game to end their NC year.

LSU was amazing last year. Most Ala fans appreciate a good football team.
These threads are silly.
I was proud of us coming back after the arse-kicking in the first half.

Well, it is true. It is likely that Alabama wins the NC this year too.
Y’all said the same thing this time last year and then we had the greatest season ever and now here we are
Yeah, but since 2009, and we said it every year since then, Alabama won in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017....so 5 out of 11 years we were right, not a bad %

Honestly, very few SEC schools could claim NC from the early days.

No. I'm just answering your original questions.

That would be difficult to do as there is no other school in the SEC that has been dominant for as long as Alabama has. It's the gift and the curse of being a blue blood, I fear.

Edward-Hilaire blew me away. I had no idea he was that good coming into that game. Joe had already shown his stuff and with our lack of D-line experience that didn't shock me as much.
LSU's D after that game was the story of the season.

I don't understand why it is so hard for Bama fans to acknowledge that other programs are on solid competitive footing. They have every reason not to be insecure yet they are the most insecure bitches in the conference.

And I don't understand why you need Alabama fans to bless your program as our competitive equal. Perhaps if you beat us more than once every 8-9 years, we'll show you more respect. But when your all-time record against us is 26-53-5, and your present coach speaks English as a second language, it's a little difficult for us to take your program seriously.

Anyways, thought you guys should know that.
Meh, so we dropped one out of the last nine
games. The first stumble since 2012 and
quick recovery is just around the corner.
But congrats anyway on your one-game-win-streak.

The fact of the matter is, if it were not for Nick Saban and Alabama, we would be in the midst of an LSU dynasty and Les Miles might very well still be the coach there.
They would have won multiple SEC and national titles, no one would have stood in their way had Saban not woken that sleeping giant in TTown once again and it would have been Pax LSU. The Golden Age of LSU Football. But it was not to be.
The last time a team rode a great talent and everyone proclaimed the end of the Saban Era what happened? Cam Newton took the money and ran, and Alabama won a National Championship the next season.
LSU finally broke the streak, had the best team they'll likely ever have, and the best season. Lost a ton, and are still bleeding talent. History is setting up to repeat itself.

I completely disagree. The parade Saban ruined with his arrival at Alabama was Urban Meyer and his Florida Gators. Florida had won national championships in 2006 and 2008 and were well on their way to winning another in 2009 when Alabama slammed them in the SEC Championship Game. Meyer quit on Florida that night and the Gators haven't really been the same since.

Make no mistake, Alabama fans like it that the SEC is so competitive. It makes the conference and Alabama look good when we (meaning the SEC) win national titles. When the SEC teams is playing, we may not want them to win at that moment, but we are happy after. The SEC is the toughest league in college football, and has been for decades.
Since 1910, an SEC or future SEC team has won at least 1 NC every decade. Many Alabama fans use that information to defend the conference, I know I do.
The fact that 5 of the top schools in wins is in the SEC is also a source of pride. The SEC won 7 NC in a row, the second longest string for a conference is 3 NC in a row, also by the SEC. The SEC teams almost all have winning records in bowl games.

You really need to realize that the fuss, cuss and discuss give and take of the SEC schools is just that. It is not that Alabama fans feel entitled, it is the fact that other SEC schools have good to great teams and rise to win NC as well.
