Extremely likely. The current theory is that the Haslam's forced the pick on the staff. Watson can't be cut for another two years, Flacco is their veteran backup, and Gabriel is their preferred choice (with reports that they secretly flew out to Oregon to meet with him before the draft), so that leaves Kenny or Sanders to be cut, and if I were picking between the two to salvage my season, I'm keeping the QB who's fresh off of a SB win.

Mel Kiper had him as his number 1 QB prospect, so I'll defer to Mel Kiper instead of a bunch of people on a message board.

Is this a troll?

Of course I could be wrong, but is Deion going to accept a 5th round contract with 5th round money? Or will he hold out and demand more money? I'm thinking that could be a likely scenario. Even if Haslam made the GM draft him, if Deion and Shedeur stick to form and demand more money, they may just say frick it and let him go. Or trade him...if there are any takers.

I was thinking the same thing. This drama is not over. There’s still a contract to be hashed out and I feel like that’s going to be a shi*show

He gets a rookie contract based on his draft position per the NFLPA labor agreement. There is no negotiation. The only thing he can do is ask to be released, thus becoming an UDFA.

He'll sell jerseys. That won't buy him a long career but it's big in his favor today.

Sanders will be on thin ice for distracting behavior.

Once he didn't go round 1/2, that's why he dropped to 5. A 1/2 guy is going to at least be expected to compete for starter so you can deal with some diva behavior. Having an arrogant kid with a megaphone is the last thing anyone wants as 3rd or 4th QB. Those guys are supposed to blend in with the background. Maybe after dropping to the 5th, teams decided this would be humbling enough to where he would STFU and be less of a distraction.

“If Kiper is so phenomenal at evaluating quarterbacks why hasn’t a team ever hired him as GM?”

Who would rather be a GM than do what Kiper does? Get paid to watch a lot of college football and say what players he likes. We’re all doing that for free.
