but how did his offense perform vs Georgia?

He averaged ~ 360 yards in the three games he coached. That's about 30 yards more than Georgia's average SEC opponent.

That's decent but not some incredible stat.

Yeah, that’s what I found as well. His 9-24 record vs top25 opponents (prior to this past season) was very eye-opening….not so much bc of the abysmal record but bc there are just so many blowouts and his offense seems to dropoff dramatically.

You just don’t look into many good HC’s past and find several 20-30+ point defeats.

DeBoer has three of those in his two seasons at Bama

Kiffin got his first road win against a ranked sec team in year 6 at Ole Miss.

DeBoer has been blown out as many times in 2 seasons at Bama, as Kiffin was in 6 seasons at Ole Miss.

Wow. Pretty staggering when you compare the teams they took over. Lane took over a 4-8 team coming off their fourth consecutive losing season. DeBoer took over a team coming off a CFP semifinal OT loss to the eventual national champion

Ole Miss was very good offensively in Lane's last two games there and in the Bowl game with Pete. Of course, the OC was the same for all three of those.

We beat the crap out of them in 2023, which is when Lane went out and spent a ton in the portal to try to get his line play competitive.

They beat us in the bowl game, so I can't really talk about last year's team as not that great.

But I will say his best team talent wise was in 2024 and he lost to both UK and UF that season. Those are things Saban did not do at Bama and Kirby, with the lone exception of 2019 vs. S. Carolina, does not do. That would be my worry with him. (I'm not counting Saban and Kirby's first years because you have to change the culture and that doesn't happen in an off season before in games)

They did make the playoff with him coaching last year. His toughest opponent in the regular season was Georgia and he lost. I would say the difference in the two games was Ole Miss played better defense in the second one. The offense was just as good or better in the bowl game without Lane. But the OC that called plays is at LSU now.

When you find out WHY he lost those games it’s even more concerning.
Most Ole Miss fans didn’t know the real Lane Kiffin until he left and stories came out.

Kind of makes the school, alumni, athletic dept, University and Oxford PD sound shady as a hell.

Like all of the Kiffin news post-break up in Knoxville.

Jaded lovers airing dirty laundry after the fact does not elicit sympathy. Makes them seem complicit in the behavior.

Lane is a known quantity. Great offensive mind, good recruiter and kind of a sleezy, immature weasle. You can't have buyer's remorse if you knew what you were getting at purchase.

That said, I like him. Great for the sport and one hell of a coach.

Lane is nowhere near the level of coach of Saban or Kirby.

With his current accomplishments, you can say he's a very good coach, but that's about it. He has to win some stuff to move into the great or elite tiers.

I don't like him one bit. I think what he did to you guys is terrible.

He claims Saban advised him to leave and I hope that's not true. I would say Pete's showing will probably make him wonder if he could've won it all had he stayed. I hope he regrets his decision and LSU never wins it all with him as coach (nothing against LSU, just don't like this dude).

That said, had he stayed you all would be considering a statue and no one would be talking about what he did or didn't do in Oxford in any kind of negative light.
