I would be shocked if the NCAA didn't look into it simply for appearances. This is just NCAA window dressing.

I would be extremely concerned if it involved recruiting.......but it didn't.

Sources are saying LSU already received their NOA. Schools are not required to publicly disclose NOAs until they have an official response.

If LSU had already received a NOA, wouldn't that have triggered Will Wade's firing pursuant to the amended contract he signed when reinstated? Not to mention, the schools don't have to release NOAs to the public, but a simple FOIA request would make that NOA publicly available. With all the reporting in this case, don't you think that's something that would have happened by now if what you're saying has merit?

The investigations are all but over at this point. Schools being look at have already been notified months ago. AU was cleared months ago.

Not unless he's deemed guilty by the NCAA unless I'm missing something.

Wasn't it for only I and II violations though? Guess it could be lower violations.

How many of the schools, who have been reported as being under NCAA investigation, have come out publicly and stated that they are indeed under an NCAA investigation?

This is simply Auburn legally protecting themselves by confirming victimhood.

Also, they are working with the NCAA to show the public the extent that the NCAA was helpless in preventing this from occurring. Like I said, this has been in the works awhile.

Auburn immediately suspended the two players involved and the NCAA reinstated them, not Auburn.

Remember back in 2007 when 5 Alabama football players were suspended for bookgate? Well the NCAA reinstated them before the Auburn game and they were eligible to play.

Then a couple of years later, the NCAA penalized Alabama and took away the wins for all the years they played.

The NCAA sucks.

Not true. LSU fans were told that this wasn't over yet. Apparently it isn't.

No way LSU has received a NOA. It would have leaked for sure.

yeah. lsu is going to vacate the sweet 16 appearance because of that.

that reminds me of '04 when i saw gator fans wearing a shirt that said, and i kid you not: "you may have won the national championship but, you're still gator bait."

there hasn't been one iota of evidence that anything is going on in relation to lsu. well, other than "sources."

The exact same thing can be said about every other school that is supposedly under NCAA investigation. So using your logic............no schools are under investigation?

Auburn started working with the NCAA when the story first broke (two years ago). AUs Compliance Department has a reputation of being over cooperating with the NCAA with any issue (at least from a fans perspective). They have built this reputation at the expense of the Athlete at times, but it has kept AU out of jail a few times. It worked in this case again. The players were hit pretty hard with the suspensions and ended up delaying them starting Pro Careers and money.
