Were LSU fans this outraged about Hendon Hooker?

Hendon Hooker played 5 years, not 6.

But yes, there were jokes about his age.

I think the outrage stems mostly from LSU being the national villain for trying to get two players who have an exceptional case for a fifth year, while the national media seemingly is indifferent to Ole Miss using the court system to successfully land Chambliss a sixth year.

Not saying I agree with either case but I truly think Wright and Harris are given their fifth year if Lane Kiffin and LSU weren’t spearheading their cause.

My bad, thought he was C/O 2018 for some reason. So Hooker had a normal redshirt and the Covid year.

It’s also about the framing of the circumstances. Half of espn was damn near cackling at calling Harris and Wright “professional athletes”. Desmond went as far as saying it was insulting to the definition of a professional athlete


Had the NCAA made their ruling in December and the players still opted for the draft, then they quite literally have no case at all and I don’t think any LSU fans would deny that. But the timing of the ruling makes an easy case for a one year exception for 2022 kids. It’s hilarious kids not good enough to even tryout for an NFL roster are granted another year, but kids barely good enough for a practice roster shouldn’t have a chance at NIL money?


You can hate LSU and Lane Kiffin all day, but it’s undeniable how hilarious the hypocrisy and selective outrage the eligibility debate has been-especially those two. I hope they get their well deserved money taking the SEC to court.

I agree, it's just a perception difference by the general public, leading to the reaction by the conference.
