OP is 100% spot on. The issue is that LSU, both the fanbase and the people who are calling the shots for the AD, are convinced that LSU is this super special place where good coaches will magically become great coaches and winning championships is easy. It isn't. Orgeron didn't win his title because "any idiot can win a title at LSU," he won it because he lucked into it, the same way Chizik won his at Auburn or Coker won his at Miami.

I'd take this dipshit seriously if he hadn't been at the head of the mindless zombie hoard telling us everything he is now denying.

Please explain
For starters Indiana is the current champion who before nil never won anything. Just in the top 15 vying for playoff spots you have Indiana, BYU, Texas Tech, Ole Miss, Utah, Mizzou etc. The point is yall are thinking historically when LSU, Bama, Texas, Florida etc were able to stack five stars and dominate everyone and that’s not the case anymore. Parity is here and everyone is beatable now. Even teams like La tech have sec quality players one of our best receivers came from there last year. They just don’t have the depth but if someone opened the piggy bank for them they could be a playoff team kinda like JMU who nobody had heard of prior to nil. Kentucky is another good example that has a real shot at making the playoffs. You won’t win championships on brand alone anymore those days are gone it’s a new world.

Maybe your program is a steaming pile of shite now?
I'd still rather be in our position than yours - NIL or not.

good post OP
I will say, give it time, this is year 1 and Kiffin hasn't got all his pieces in place. To everyone saying that this is the NIL era and you can win in year 1, they are a bit delusional. There are so many players not in the starting 22 which get built as depth and rotational subs that make a huge difference in games that aren't there in year 1. Verdict's still out on Kiffin IMO.

As much as I’d love to say Kiffin is a failure at LSU, it’s too early to tell. What we do know is that he isn’t magic. LSU at the time of hire was convinced that it was a year one hired the next Saban national championship immediately kind of hire.
He has never been wildly successful at a major program. So far, that statement remains true for now.
