Would be an ok hire...closer to a bunt single than a home run though. The spin on how he was their first choice all along will be epic. I can't imagine the ridiculous buyout clause they'll give him after what they gave Ed O... it's going to get very expensive trying to save face.

Would be a way better hire than hiring Bill O’Brien for any coaching position at any organization or school.

Former LSU player and current TAF member just said that LSU is announcing the hire Tuesday, or Wednesday at the latest.

It would be a very solid hire for LSU

Woodward is a lousy AD then.

Imagine thinking that Aranda would be just an "ok" hire.

Typical Chad.

It should be. Unless he isn't interested. Otherwise it's foolish to let that good of a coach go.

I would love for Dave Aranda to be the next head coach. I honestly don't see the negatives.

I will laugh my arse off if LSU passes on Aranda. He's been the best attainable coach on the board all along. LSU would be idiots to let him go to OU.

Yeah. I think Aranda is probably as good a hire as there is out there.

Aranda is probably the best LSU could hope for honestly.

And the spin begins. The Corndogs know it's coming. Hey, he's a decent fallback...but a fallback nonetheless.

I don't think Aranda would have been interested in USC, but I think he might listen to OU. Riley bolting for USC and leaving OU open might just keep LSU from getting their hands on Aranda.

Aranda tried to shite the bed yesterday when he passed up the easy chip shot FG on 4th down from the 12 yard line with 1:18 left, up only 3 points at the end, and gave a guy who made a 62 yard FG two weeks earlier the opportunity to kick a potentially game-tying FG at the end. They make that FG and win in overtime, and we'd be laughing our asses off at Aranda today.

It was a monumentally stupid decision, and he's lucky it didn't come back to bite him in the arse.

Texas Tech with a guy who can hit from 62, and Aranda passes up the easy opportunity to make it a 6 point lead. What a fricking idiot.
