At some point Bama is going to have to look at playing someone with a pulse outside the SEC West.

Have tried to schedule top 25-type OOC games every year (FSU, USC, Wisconsin, WVU, Michigan, Va Tech, Penn State, Louisville, Clemson) and have teams like USC, Texas, Miami schedule 2020 and beyond. The Chick-Fil-A kickoff going with Duke from the ACC sucks but not really in Alabama's control for 2019. Tennessee perpetually sucking is obviously an issue as well. Of course I would think you probably know all of this since you do these schedule analysis threads pretty regularly.

Wow I can’t believe USCw isn’t even in the top 25. That is sad.

LSU 4
Texas a&m 4
Georgia 3

Alabama 2
Florida 2
Texas 2
Notre Dame 2
Michigan 2

Oklahoma, Clemson, Ohio State, all 1

P5
SEC 9
Big12 2
Big10 2
Independent (ND) 2
ACC 1
Pac12 0

Conclusions. ACC is a one pony show, and Pac12 is a no pony show.

Alabama’s schedule is inferior to LSU, Texas A&M, and Georgia. And only these three volunteer to play big boy football games. Florida and Bama only play big boys because the SEC requires them to, and without LSU both would be ACC equivalent.

I'm not being a hater, this is coming from ignorance, but what's with the UF hype? Is it just because they shallacked michigan?

They just had a huge turnaround season with a new coach and finished in the top 10. That's typically how preseason polls work.

Does this mean Missouri will win at least 9 games next year? I am seeing an easier schedule for Missouri next year.

Once again, Bama's schedule is laughable.

Be careful. The gumps are really sensitive about this reality.

Texas loses the majority of their starters and comes in at Preseason #6? Media trying to push Texas is back way to hard.

They do this every year whenever possible. Remember 2016 when they went from unranked to top 10 after week 1 and fell completely out of the rankings 3 weeks later, finishing the season 5-7. Texas is a program the media loves to pump up when they can so they can promote the hell out of any early season games they have against good teams.

Auburn’s schedule is insane

Brutal as usual, they play 6 (SIX) preseason top 25 teams and only 2 at home. The only other SEC that has it just as rough so USCe. Damn

Fify. We don't even need the entire top 25.

It really is insane how brutal our schedule is year in and year out.

Oh cry us a river
Auburn's playing 6 of the top 12 - and they aren't whining about it.

Didn’t say y’all didn’t play big boy.
We play 5 top 20 teams, and it’s not 6 because this is our rare Vandy year.

But your school votes for permanent East opponents that results in y’all playing Georgia, LSU playing Florida, and Alabama playing Tennessee.

You screw yourselves. Should have pushed for non-SEC games with Georgia in years that wouldn’t schedule the game. Both schools would be better off. So would Tennessee. LSU and Florida would be better off with a sequential meeting. Only Alabama prospers with this setup.

It's fricking ridiculous, your new AD needs to make scheduling his top priority IMO. Good Lord, that schedule is tough as hell and evenly distributed from the opener all the way to the IB - there's no breathing room in there.

Unfortunately there isn't much we can do. He has already said he is trying to find a way to get the DSOR and IB to alternate every year like they were. Even if that means playing one of them away two years in a row, most Auburn fans I know would be fine with it.

We can get rid of playing a top 10 team to open the season every year, which I honestly think we should with the rest of our schedule, but the rest of SEC play, there isn't much we can change with the schedule. Having UGA as our cross divisional rival just means more often than not, we're going to have a highly ranked SEC east opponent, which isn't the case for any other West team outside of LSU, but even then Florida has been inconsistent.
