Man some of the stories coming out of Florida have to make anyone start asking questions..
I mean Florida man is practically a celebrity now, and not for good reasons.

Watch Les Miles take Kansas to the College Football Playoffs

Barrett Sallee said this morning that Lester would do no better than Weis, because Les has never evolved offensively to the current college game, and that's ultimately why he got fired at LSU. He did say Miles would recruit well to Kansas.

You know who hasn't evolved to modern football? The Big-12. They haven't won a national championship since 2005, primarily because they absolutely refuse to evolve on the defensive side of the ball.

If Miles can recruit even halfway decently by his standards and bring some big boy defense tonthe Big 12, he will be successful. College Football Playoffs? Meh...probably not. But be in contention for Big 12 championships? Absolutely.

That’s the point.

Lawrence is a lot better than Colombia
You're just talking out your arse. I live in KC and business takes me to Lawrence every few weeks on the steady. At the very best one could say it is comparable to Columbia. Downtown isn't too bad, campus is ok. Any outside observer knows you're full of it.

Nobody seems to grasp just how awful kU is as a program from top to bottom at this point.

Nobody seems to grasp that schools like LSU recruit themselves.

Nobody seems to grasp where Miles is at this point if he had to take probably the worst P5 job in the country.

See if you can grasp this:

Eleven years ago yesterday, when Lester was sitting at the top of the BCS standings, who was #2?

Here...I'll help.

I think it would be cool if Miles took Kansas to the playoffs. I hope he does.

What’s your point? They wouldn’t have made the playoff in, by far, the best year in program history?

Something they’ve never come close to in 100+ years of football and now a 65 yr old Les Miles is going to do it while taking on one of the biggest rebuilds in history?

I hope he has success but I don't see more than 7 wins while he coaches there. And I don't see him coaching past 70 years old.

I'm sorry, I thought my point was pretty clear, but I'll be happy to repeat it:

I like Les too, it's hard not to like the guy. As JQ has said though, you guys just don't know nor understand the level of futility in ku football now. They have pretty much sunk to their worse level and that says a lot. I have quote a few jayhawk friends, so this old rivalry does not cloud my view on this matter. It's a big stretch to think Les can recruit enough good players to win a Big 12 championship. The playoffs is looney thinking. The man being 65 leaves him a limited window and that job is too tall of a task for the time he will have.

Don't act like it can't happen. The Big 12 is weak. Miles can recruit too.

No it can’t happen. Kansas isn’t Louisiana in terms of fertile recruiting ground. Les doesn’t have the LSU “brand” behind him anymore. Kansas is a bottom feeder in the B12.
Les will pick up enough 3 stars from Texas, Louisina etc to achieve the same level success he had at Oklahoma State but nothing more.

HailHailToMichigan gets credit for this great line:

The presser is starting late for some reason.

Looks like the time management issues are already starting.

I'm pulling for him to do well and fully expect him to. Most of all I'm looking forward to seeing a few high-flying Big 12 offenses get humbled by some "old man football". But the playoffs? Get the frick outta here.

It can't happen. A younger Bill Snyder could win there. Mike Leach could win there. Les ain't Snyder nor is he Mike Leach. A great young coach like Brohm or Matt Campbell who is at a lower tier or a no holds barred, go getting assistant was the call. This was and is a lazy hire by an idiot AD.

You’re making it quite poorly AND you’re wrong.

They only had 63 scholarship players this year, lose 25 of those and currently have ONE (yes one) commit for the 2019 class. Big 12 Championship? You’re fricking insane! This is one of the biggest rebuilds you could ever possibly imagine, and at a school with an incredibly poor recruiting base no less. Awful facilities. A fanbase that doesn’t give a shite about football. The odds couldn’t possibly be anymore stacked against him. He’s 65, runs an outdated system (that requires elite talent to work that, he won’t be able to get), and his star has fallen far enough that he was forced to step into such an awful situation in the first place.

Try reality. It’s nice.

How mad would LSU fans be if Les Miles takes Kansas to the playoffs?

I don’t really know if they’d be mad. Regardless, would it be an NCAA violation to take the team to the playoffs? And if not, does the athletics department spring for flight, rooms and tickets? Are they allowed to get the players concessions? I mean, if I’m going to watch the playoffs I’m gonna at least want some .
