Wasn’t this CFB 150 thing supposed to be a celebration of CFB?

Just started watching and it’s been 20 minutes of complaining about the violence of the game

Well, wasn't that a pretty big part of the early years of CFB?

Actual violence and sudden death, not a build up of hits cause mental issues later in life.

They got some pretty big pansies as the non-football commentators for this deal so far.

Interesting from a historical standpoint

I recorded it, hope it's good. Just figured the first part would be about how football almost got banned in the late 1800s and early 1900s because of the violence.

Just seems like in a special that’s supposed to celebrate CFB it seems weird to spend such a large chunk complaining about the game

Is it complaining about the modern game?

If so, barf. I mean I don't disagree with the dangers present day but it doesn't have to permeate through every discussion of football.

It’s not been a celebration at all. It’s been an attempt by your typical journalist types to denigrate the sport, it’s history, and the men who built it. Pathetic.

But not surprising coming from ESPN.

We’re 20 minutes in and they haven’t gotten to how racist the game, schools and country are. Just wait.

It started with the old dangers before the forward pass and transitioned to current day concussion stuff.

One guy on there saying we’re all just pretending the danger doesn’t exist and we’re praying the problem will go away. Pretty much implying that football shouldn’t be played anymore

Me too. I should have known better.

And here we go with the racist part.

Literally a segment starting called Anglo-Saxon Supremacy

First commentator(white woman)goes on to say white man insecurities.

And now we’re on to race.

They really marketed this thing wrong.

Market it as a history of CFB thing then I’d be fine with it. But this ain’t no celebration.

The thing with this stuff is.....the era was a certain way. It wasn't a "football" issue, it was an American issue.

So, sure, mention that it wasn't integrated, but to act like this was a football problem is just obtuse. They clearly handed this off to the wrong people at Disney. That's a shame.

Started out taking about what a BIG business football is, coaches are the highest paid State employees and act as God to players and CEO to the Universities. Said some universities were built on football.
Seemed more like lobbying for paying players and moved on to how dangerous it is.

I quit watching it was so bad. ESPN never learns they arerepelling the very audience they need.

Which is why Teddy is the GOAT president because he saved CFB.

Seems like all the positive stuff will be talked about through the season. On the bright side, looks like they will do a weekly documentary each weeknight on certain coaches, games, the SEC, etc
