Was the Rose Bowl too emotionally and physically draining for Georgia?

Having such a close game that went into double overtime like that can take a lot out of you both emotionally and physically. On top of that you factor in that Georgia had to fly back from California while Alabama was in NO and you have to think that Bama has an advantage going into the title game at least in those two factors. Thoughts?

Not as worried as I’d be if we had to play South Carolina.

Definitely think it could have been, but I loved the response of Kirby, Sony, Fromm, etc. after the game. They knew it wasn't the national championship and I believe that our senior leaders will be able to help keep the younger guys in check.

As Kirby says, you just gotta keep the main thing the main thing.

If this were simply a regular season game, I might have to say that it is a possibility... However, since this is the NCG, the emotions will be high and both teams will probably play inspired football on Monday night...

Next year the REC needs to work on getting us a bye in the first round.

Skip the SECCG and the first round.

Straight to the ship - well rested.

I don't know if it makes a huge difference but losing another OLB that is playing as well as Jennings is a pretty big deal.

Doubt they will be emotionally drained for the National Championship game with basically a home crowd behind them.

I think Georgia got back to Athens before Bama got back to Tuscaloosa after their bowl games too. The 3 hour flight differential getting home won't be a big deal next Monday.

Not with Kirby. He's the master motivator.

After another week of practice and focus on Alabama, they'll be ready. Once they come out of the tunnel Monday night, the Rose Bowl will be a distant memory.

It honestlly did not look that physically draining

The UGA offense ran around untouched

The defense ran around without touching anyone the first half , then crushing people the second half

I’m trying to give Georgia fans an excuse to run with and they just aren’t taking the help.

All I know is that as a spectator I was pretty exhausted after watching the game with the momentum swings and all. I really couldn’t get into watching the Alabama-Clemson game after that one.

It would be normally, but Alabama has been here so many times I think Georgia still has the "this is our shot all on the line" edge a bit.
