getting on the LSU for firing Les Miles only to replace him with Ed Orgeron.
My question is if Les was an elite coach, as they suggested, why is he still unemployed?

Nice radio show though.

Maybe because he's getting paid a gazillion dollars by LSU and only has to make token efforts to get a job. We all should be so fortunate.

I agree with Muscona on this one. Ed O may turn out to be a good hire but you don't fire your winningest coach in history to promote your interim DL coach who has not been a head coach since early this century when you have the name LSU does. Herman wanted to talk to Texas and you can't blame him. Aleva should have waited and seen what Texas offer was and determine if f it was worth countering.

The point they need to make is that LSU botched its coaching search and settled for Coach O in the end. They would not have hired Coach O over Les. And, they didn't hire Coach O over Les. They were caught with their pants down.

Les Miles walked into a kingdom Saban built. All of the ground work was already laid. He maintained, but it slowly eroded. Les is a prime example of baby boomers. They expect to have a job just because.

I don't think we botched the coaching search. O exceeded expectations, the team played great, Tiger Fans were energized, and the two top candidates - Jimbo and Herman turned us down. Alleva and the Prez, BoD & TAF decided to give their #3 option the job. This will turn out to be a great hire. Talking heads look at stats. Les had a good run, but the energy was out of the team and program. Time for a change.

Are you just that stupid or you playing with us? Maintained what Saban built for 11 years?

Yeah that was a stupid comment.

If we want an example of a coach that simply coasted off of someone else's work, you could use Larry Coker's trajectory after Miami's loaded '01 as a model. The wheels should've fallen off at LSU around 2010. Miles had his best team in 2011.

He is still unemployed because he is older and not that good . The sad part is that coach O is just as bad if not worse.
