It’s because Texas would bitch louder if Bama got in and they didn’t.

So they decided to deal with FSU bitching instead.

Texas didn’t do anything new, but Bama winning the SEC suddenly made their signature win look a lot better.

Michigan 3-0 vTop25 + Conference Title (+H2H Ohio State)
Washington 4-0 vTop25 + Conference Title
Texas 3-1 vTop25 + Conference Title (+H2H Alabama)
Alabama 4-1 vTop25 + Conference Title (+H2H Georgia)
FSU 3-0 vTop25 + Conference Title
Georgia 3-1 vTop25
Ohio State 2-1 vTop25

There is some logic to the committee’s rankings if you don’t just fixate on one resume point, even with just the very basic resume aspects above.

The spot where one may better argue they got it out of order is Michigan at #1.

What you just listed has FSU with literally the same resume as Michigan and better than Texas. Yet you say FSU at 5 makes sense?

And when you look at it more you realize 2 of the Top 25 wins are Iowa and Penn State, and those 2 teams have zero quality wins themselves.

Michigans entire resume is they killed bad teams and beat Ohio State. And beating Ohio State is a big deal, they're an elite team, but boy did Michigan get some serious benefit of the doubt that they were clearly the other great team besides Georgia with a resume that is all-time soft.

You have the right of it. Everyone's focused on BAMA but it's Texas that jumped FSU without much reason given. And it's obvious as to why -- tv dollars.

So much butthurt. Almost brings a tear to my eye.

Good point. Michigan's resume is a bit more questionable than Alabama or Texas. But they do have the Top10 Ohio St and Penn St wins whereas FSU is the only team in contention without a real signature win.

I think Washington has a top 10 SoS.

Wash played 3 ranked teams ( as of today's AP poll)

FSU played 3 ranked teams (as of today's AP poll)

Wash is #2. FSU is trash.

Why?

But an undefeated fsu is ahead of Georgia, but not good enough to be ahead of one loss bama and Texas? The logic is not logical.

UGA didn't win their conference.

So why the frick did you start a thread asking for an explanation about Texas?

Count again, and this time use what matters (the CFP).

We’ll never know for sure, but I think if UGA had won, FSU stays ahead of Texas. Because Bama won, the only way to get them in was to also include Texas.

There is literally nothing that supports Texas jumping. Beating Bama wasn’t worth a jump earlier, and wins over Texas Tech and Ok. st. sure as heck don’t warrant it.

Agreed. And aside from myself, I haven't seen anyone talking about Washington being somehow guaranteed a spot for being undefeated when FSU had the better schedule with the same record.

FSU didn’t have an Ohio State type win nor two Oregon type wins and also Michigan/Washington have their QBs healthy too.

Because Alabama beat Georgia, so Bama gets in. But Texas beat Alabama, so Texas has to get in too. That seems to be the only logic that explains the results.
