From last year:

To’O’to’O (transfer)
Quavaris Crouch (transfer)
Jeremy Banks (injury)
Martavius French (suspended)
Aaron Willis (suspended)

Which leaves:

Aaron Beasley (7 tackles)
Morvon Joseph (2 tackles)
Kwauze Garland (Walk-on)
Will Albright (Long Snapper)

quote:

“I think we’re trying to build depth at every position, so we’re giving everyone an opportunity to try to showcase their skill set,” Banks said of Albright. “He’s getting an opportunity to see if he can prove his worth as far as a linebacker goes, and obviously as we continue to move through spring, we’ll have better information and we’ll find out if that’s able to come to fruition.”

That’s merely a great display of his versatility.

I genuinely do not know a single person IRL that still follows VOLS football so thanks for the update

Legit, Vols may have their worst team ever in 2021.

The SEC is better when teams like Tennessee do what they're historically capable of doing, so I'm not against being surprised so long as it isn't the TSIO.

Has he landed anywhere yet?

At one time there was talk about Bama being interested. Then a few weeks ago some of the Tenn sites/Twitter accounts were floating that he might return to Knoxville.

I think his deal is that he doesn't want to commit to going to Alabama while in Knoxville for some pretty obvious reasons and he still needs to finish his semester (and graduate I believe).

It's been over 2 decades since Tennessee was elite so at what point do we say that the mediocrity is the new normal?

It definitely won't be under Heupel's tenure.

There's zero reason with an adequate AD and coaching staff that Tennessee couldn't compete in the east and for the conference every fourth year like an Iowa does.

But...but..recruiting......in state talent......but......

These things have historically been challenges for Tennessee but with proper leadership it can be done. It's been proven over and over.

Coaching them up at Tennessee. Turning a Long Snapper into a SEC linebacker!

Y'all sure are confident about a guy that was like your 23rd choice.

Albright was a good really good LB and TE. He won 2 state championships in those positions...but he is too slow to be an SEC LB and too small to be an SEC TE. He would be a very good FCS LB.

If I had a time machine I would go back to 2001, buy an ad that runs on local TV in Knoxville, and explain to them that in 2021 Alabama (just handed probation in this timeline due to Fulmers snitching) is in the midst of the greatest dynasty that the sport has ever known, and Tennessee is planning to start a walk on long snapper at linebacker

Enough of this shite Tenner. Get your act together. You've been down longer than we have with much less excuse.

It was funny at first but now it's just sad.

Given the scenario, I really wouldn't think much of it.

I would think it's another Joey Matthews type and the starter(s) are hurt and it's a stop gap starter.

Well............ a competent AD may have been hired but we'll have to wait for the coach now.
