According to VolQuest, Tennessee football and the NCAA have been in discussions over the past ten days and in all likelihood will not be charged with failure to monitor tomorrow. Lane Kiffin, David Reaves, and Ed Orgeron are expected to be hit with the failure to monitor charges instead.

Way too good to be true. I won't even get my hopes up.

Wait, so Tennessee hasn't been on sanctions and probation the past two seasons?

That would set a precedent. I'll believe it when I see it.

Our athletic department is so compliant, we sanctioned ourselves years ago.

The NCAA has gotten pretty soft. The 'punishment' handed to Jim Calhoun today was pretty funny. Think there was some questionable stuff going on in the SEC during football season too. Feel like I remember hearing something about that...

If true I'll renew my season tickets...

Just kidding, already did... I'm eating the dollar menu for a while now.

If UT football gets probation b/c of what those jackasses did during their one year in Knoxville, I will be really pissed. The sanctions should follow them.

Speaking of which, I am currently working in So Cal. I could probably track those bastards down if need be. I'm only about a 1/2 hour away from USC's campus.

Normally I would feel bad for UT fans, but considering their unwavering support of Kiffin until the day he left, they deserve any misery caused by sanctions.

You were very likely one of the die hard supporters of Kiffin's tactics as was your AD. You can't stand up for his actions while he is coach and then denounce them when he leaves for greener pastures and say UT did nothing wrong.

Not a chance. So they don't punish the University that failed to monitor, but they punish the coaches. Breaking News: Pigs now fly.

Doesn't Tennessee still have the same Athletic Director? Isn't he suppose to be the head of the department and know what is going on? Didn't he hire the Kiffin clown? So is the AD going to use the Cam Newton excuse, "I didn't know"?

He hired the BB, FB, and BB coaches that are all under investigation.

You might want to stop going to VolQuest for your info.
