From FBSchedules……

1. BYU is the ONLY FBS program to start the season with four Power 5 opponents (Utah, @Tennessee, USC, Washington). They won't face a single other Power 5 opponent all season long.

2. Four FBS games are rematches of national championship games.

*LSU at Alabama (Saturday, Nov. 9) – rematch of the 2011/12 BCS National Championship, (2) Alabama beat (1) LSU 21-0.

*Auburn vs. Oregon (Saturday, Aug. 31 at Arlington, Texas) – rematch of the 2010/11 BCS National Championship, (1) Auburn beat (2) Oregon 22-19.

*Florida at Florida State (Saturday, Nov. 30) – rematch of the 1996/97 Sugar Bowl (Bowl Alliance National Championship Game), (3) Florida beat (1) Florida State 52-20.

*Georgia Southern at Arkansas State (Saturday, Nov. 23) – rematch of the 1986 Division 1 FCS Championship Game (formerly Division I-AA), Georgia Southern beat Arkansas State 48-21.

3. MIAMI and MISSOURI will both spend six straight weeks of the season at home.

4. INDIANA has the TWO biggest losing streaks to snap in 2019....23-game losing streaks each to both Ohio State and Michigan.

5. NORTH CAROLINA and APPALACHIAN STATE will play exactly 79 years after their last meeting.

6. FIVE Teams are playing TWO FCS opponents.

*ARMY (Morgan State and VMI), EAST CAROLINA (Gardner-Webb and William & Mary), FLORIDA (UT Martin and Towson), LIBERTY (Hampton and Maine) and VIRGINIA TECH (Furman and Rhode Island)

7. NORTH CAROLINA and WAKE FOREST are slated to meet in non-conference play.

Though the Tar Heels road trip to Winston-Salem to play the Demon Deacons on Friday, Sept. 13 looks just like an ACC game featuring a pair of in-state rivals, it’s not. No indeed, the 2019 version of UNC vs. Wake Forest is a NON-CONFERENCE game.

The two schools concocted the plan back in 2015, scheduling non-ACC games this season and then again in 2021. According to Dan Wolken of USA Today Sports, the decision was made at least in part so the two rivals – who last met in ACC action in 2015 and weren’t scheduled to play again until 2022 – could play more frequently. “Instead of UNC and Wake Forest spending upwards of $1 million to fill a non-conference date with someone like Louisiana-Monroe or North Texas, they will play a more cost-effective game against a real rival, which will generate more fan interest and ticket sales.”

8. TEXAS and BAYLOR won’t play outside of the Lone Star State until October (sounds like a Florida Gators schedule).

9. Three FBS teams from Colorado will all play each other for the first time since 1958.

* Colorado opens vs. Colorado State in Denver on Friday, Aug. 30, Air Force travels to Colorado on Saturday, Sept. 14 and then makes the trek to Colorado State on Saturday, Nov. 16.

10. The Florida Cup is back after a six-year absence. Established in 2002 by the Florida Sports Foundation, the Florida Cup is also known as “the state championship of Florida.”

*Florida and Miami kickoff the season this Saturday (Aug. 24) in Orlando. The Hurricanes are at Florida State on Nov. 2 and the Seminoles close out the regular season with a visit to Florida on Nov. 30.

11. USC and UMASS get one fewer week off than the rest of the field.

*This is the first season since 2014 that FBS teams will have two bye-weeks built into their schedules as opposed to the usual one. The extra week off is a result of how Labor Day and Thanksgiving fall into the calendar – an early Labor Day combined with a late Turkey Day can equal an extra Saturday of college football, expanding the regular season from 13 weeks to 14. Given that teams are still playing a 12-game slate, an extra week on the calendar equals an additional bye week.

*The Trojans and Minutemen share the unfortunate scheduling caveat of having the second of their two byes during the final week of the season.

12. PURDUE will have an opportunity to score its first ever points on VANDERBILT. Vandy won both previous games by a combined score of 29-0, meaning that any points that Purdue can manage will be its first ever in series history. The two are also slated to meet in 2029 in Nashville.

13. LIBERTY and NEW MEXICO STATE will play each other TWICE…for the second season in a row! It’s the “first time two Division I football teams have played twice in the regular season since 1998, when UMass met UConn on Oct. 24 and Nov. 21.

14. TEXAS A&M and SOUTH CAROLINA will both play the Top Three teams in the nation.

15. NOTRE DAME is 0-3 vs. its first three opponents: 0-1 vs. Louisville, 0-0 vs. New Mexico, and 0-2 vs. Georgia.

16. Stanford is the only FBS program to have all three of its non-conference opponents ranked in the Coaches Preseason Top 25: Northwestern (#25), Central Florida (#17), and Notre Dame (#9).

17. SAN JOSE STATE and HAWAII will play for the newest FBS rivalry trophy.

The team that wins the Week 11 clash between San Jose State and Hawaii in Honolulu will have the honor of being the first-ever recipient of the Dick Tomey Trophy.

For the first 9 weeks of the season, Auburn has 3 true home games (Oregon is Neutral site), with not a single home game the month of October.

Correction, GatorTitBrain….1980 was our only untied and undisputed national title. Other titles were shared titles in 1920, 1927, 1942, 1946, and 1968.

You can return to your 4th grade class (you've not made it to the 5th grade, yet).

You leghumpers are some comical dipshits. Someone needs to tell the guy who made this sign outside your own stadium, to add all those other years.

You can't win an argument so you deflect. You boys are much too simple to understand my high level trolling skills.

I wonder if we could ever see this in the SEC with the amount of time between games for cross-divisional rotational teams. Probably not, but it is interesting to think about.

Wow, I’ve never heard of that happening in college football before

I wouldn't call LSU/Alabama an interesting quirk in the 2019 schedule because they once played each other for a natty.

They play each other every fricking year! I guess by that definition, 2012, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 were quirky too.

It’s obvious he’s about 11 years old or younger. His mommy thinks he’s studying and when she discovers he’s on this board being an a-hole, he’ll be gone forever.

Retarded.
IMO, the SEC should set up every school's schedule differently.

Which tells me BYU is the bitch for both P5 and G5.
