I thought it was a terrible broadcast by these two on CBS as usual. I think it's time CBS really looks into replacements this offseason.

It's time.

Verne's "Why WOULD you?" on the fake punt was totally worth it, though.

Like him or not, he's the best college analyst on tv...and it's not really close (Blackledge is 2nd).

Danielson calling that run up the middle for the TD by Dak was damn impressive.

CBS thinks Todd is best; but he does not want to cover just the SEC.

Have an acquaintance very high with CBS.

And he does this pretty often. Danielson is the best in the business IMHO and I like Verne as well. To be that old he does a hellava job with the play by play.

Agreed. I'm not sure why Danielson gets so much hate -- he often calls plays immediately before they happen.

I love Verne, but it's time for him to go. He can't give correct names to save his life, and he's often lost on play outcomes. I can't begin to count how many times there's an incomplete pass and he wonders if it's a fumble.

A few years ago we played Florida -- one of our receivers had a long catch and run and was stripped at the goal line. Verne openly wondered for like a whole minute whether it would be called an incomplete pass. Keep in mind that our receiver had caught the ball and proceeded to run 60 yards with it.

Was this the first time since 2005 that State had a home game broadcasted on CBS? Or the 2:30 slot at least?

I just remember the 2005 Alabama game being CBS.

CBS likes Todd's "pretty boy" look and non threatening personality (as I said, I think he's 2nd), but you're not going to find anyone with the knowledge and experience of the game that works as hard on their "homework" each week...that's why Danielson is so uncanny at predicting plays. He studies each teams tendencies by watching hours of tape....the guy's the best.
