This is as retarded a take as it gets

By that logic, LSU should be in the natty for beating #4 Clemson

Lol. Are we really suggesting that Vandy’s resume would be better by if we beat Texas/bama and loss to a Mizzou? What kind of reasoning is that?

Your QB's family is insufferable, that's why.

Vandy played a ridiculously easy SEC schedule.

Ole Miss played the easiest schedule in the league.

See my other thread for details.

Unless you are arguing the Vols were an easy opponent given they rolled over and let Vandy run them out of the building in the 2nd half.

most years this resume gets in, there are an unusual number of 1-2 loss major conference teams this year, only those with the best wins get in

It would show Vandy is capable of beating a heavy weight team. Or at the very least competing. Vanderbilt forced a grand total of 2 punts against Alabama and Texas combined

None of the teams Vandy beat have a ranked win. That’s pathetic.

It really is a shame. What other SEC team goes 10-2 and NOT get in? Mississippi St.? Not even sure about them depending on their quality wins/losses, but I did not see an SEC team getting left out at 10-2.

W/the way the committee slobbers over blue bloods bending over backwards to get them in? Yes 100% absolutely they would view Vandy differently if one of their wins were against Texas or Bama.

If you get six, then the committee will match up SEC teams in the first round.

Is there a law against that?

I concede it's unlikely the SEC will get six, much as I might like it be so. But only because in order for that happen you'd need this to happen:

Big Ten: IU, OSU, Oregon (all of these are locks)
Big 12: winner of Texas Tech and BYU (this likely only happens if the game is not close and one team loses badly)
ACC: winner of ACC championship game
G5: they get one, doesn't matter who it is
Notre Dame (of course they are in)

So that leaves exactly 5 spots.

And that's assuming the Big 12 and ACC don't get a second team in. We need BYU to lose and Virginia to win.

Sorry, Vandy, I think you are screwed.

In fact, it's entirely possible the SEC only gets 4 teams in.

It's hard to see Bama not getting in. I think they would have to get absolutely obliterated by UGA and this is definitely not happening.

If BYU wins and Virginia loses, I think the Big 12 gets two in and then the committee has a real headache deciding between two loss SEC teams, plus an Ole Miss team missing coaches vs. a 2 loss Miami that beat Notre Dame.

Vandy would have been a lock at 11-1. Shoulda beat Bama.

I posted this two weeks ago.

A 10-2 SEC team will be left out and Vandy will get the shaft.

Pavia is prime time entertainment. Ratings would be off the charts.

Unfortunately, the committee approach will be about politics.

Notre Dame and Miami are not better than Texas/Vanderbilt, but they will get IN.

If Bama loses Saturday, and Texas Tech loses. I guess the committee will discuss whether to leave Alabama or Oklahoma out.

Ultimately, I think
Georgia
Alabama
Oklahoma
Ole Miss
A&M

Are IN.

Hard to squeeze in 6 bc Notre Dame will like be IN and JMU/Troy

Big Ten
OSU
IU
Oregon

There just is not room for 6.
Argument t will be about Alabama IF they lose to UGA.

this

I’ve been rooting for Vandy all year. In all honesty of putting the best teams in the SEC should have 6 teams. Vandy has 2 losses just as good as NDs and combined better wins. Their SOR has to be better

Unless Bama loses badly, I think the SEC would raise holy hell if their bell cow program was denied a CFP berth.

I get that Bama lost to FSU, but they beat UGA during the regular season. If they are competitive in the rematch, they shouldn't be punished for playing in the CCG.

This is an interesting perspective here:

Do the math. The SEC is more likely to get 4 bids, not 5.

You've got 3 locks from the Big Ten. 3 locks courtesy of conference champs from ACC, Big 12 and best G5 team. Notre Dame is a lock. That gets us down to 5 spots. SEC can only get 5 in if the Big 12 and ACC only get one bid.

Ole Miss and Oklahoma may well both be on the bubble. Had Lane not left, I think Ole Miss would be an absolute lock and Oklahoma would be denied if the SEC gets only 4 bids.

I don't envy the committee here. They are guaranteed to piss someone off.

You have correctly identified that the SEC needs BYU to lose. I think we also want Virginia to win and hope the committee doesn't give much Miami a boost for beating Notre Dame while stumbling twice in a bad ACC where Clemson and FSU are shells of their former selves.

Vandy’s ooc schedule keeps them out.

Texas ooc schedule keeps them out too but for the opposite reason.

Committee will just pick the narrative needed.
