Men have been cheerleaders for a long time.
They haven't always been POMPOM GIRLS AND FLAG GIRLS and MAJORETTES because those are explicitly feminine things.
I was in college in the late 90s/early 2000s and I never saw a male flag-line guy, ever. Now its everywhere.
It's gross.

It’s the growth of indoor colorguard. Guys have more upper arm strength so they can do equipment tosses higher. It really sucks because it’s spread into the marching band world and now some bands use “indoor outfits” instead of traditional band uniforms. Also do a lot more “dance” and body work. Bottom line is it’s not what it used to be.

We had 2 or 3 Male cheerleaders at the Citadel and ever single one of them was a bad@$$. They were all ripped.
