Sounds like he's a pussy if he's afraid to take the USC job because they pulled a Clemson vs the Citadel.
They lost to the Citadel but also beat UNC who promptly went the rest of the season undefeated until losing a nail biter to Clemson in the ACCCG.

More like SC folk releasing it so it doesn't look like they struck out on four guys before hiring BoomBoom
We knew this loooooong ago. What the frick would we gain from rehashing it now?
Muschamp took us from near 50th in recruiting when he took over to 26th in the few weeks he was here.
If Herman lost 15 spots at Houston after the year they had, in a recruiting territory he is very familiar with, no way in hell would he have moved us up from basically 50th to 26th.

At least we're not poor.

No, you don't know shite. You've heard what SC has leaked out. Which, obviously, they are going to release info that makes them look good.
Herman didn't know SC was a pile of shite and total rebuild job BEFORE the Citadel game? Isn't he a Mensa member??????
Lol, gtfo.

As much as you lurk our board you knew this already as well.
Herman pulled back when lsu looked like they were going to fire les, simultaneously we lose to citadel and herman gets the big upgrade to his contract laid on his desk at uh.
Don't be such cockgobbler, if I'm not mistaken the zoocrew and you were harping about how misery was going to get herman because everyone wants to live in mizzou.

GFY and your fake outrage too.

Just as well. There will be a vacancy in Austin by mid-season, and Herman would leave to go there anyway.

Guaran-fricking-tee I know more about my Alma Mater's football team than you do,or ever will.
Though, granted, you know a good bit from all the time you spend lurking our board.
I have NEVER, not ONCE, in all my years on tRant cared enough about your football team to go to your board for any reason at all.
You are obsessesed beyond even the level of tater fans and I find it hilarious...as do the rest of the Gamecock contingent on here.
So please, keep entertaining us. We appreciate it very much.
By the way..if Carolina was so intent on floating this info, why was it NOT a Carolina fan that posted this to begin with?
Let me answer that for you, genius. Because we were over this a long time ago. We've moved on. Why haven't you?
lol...gtfo, diaf, eabod and stfu.

What's up with the Georgia fans posting old shite today? At least this is slightly more recent than the Peyton crap.
Really? The link I looked at showed the story broke yesterday. Hard to get much newer.

Did YOU know Herman turned down SC because of the Citadel loss?
I agree with CNB that if that was the real reason, it was best he didn't go to SC, though. I am a bit surprised that Muschamp was SC's 4th choice, though. I think he'll do well there.

To be fair, scrooster maintained this being the reason ever since Christmas. So it's not the first WE'VE heard of it.

Whatever the reason, the fact remains he did turn down the job. Enh, not the end of the world that he did either.
Winning, and winning big, at Houston is one thing. They had a great run last year and capped it off with thumping FSU. They still only played a handful of good teams.
We've seen coaches have one big season at a smaller school and then flame out upon being hired at a major university. USCe is not a turn key football program right now. You won't just walk in the door and rattle off a run to the CFP in your first season.
Its going to be a building process. I'm not sold on Muschamp being the guy to lead USCe to the promised land but he's probably a better hire long term then Herman would be.

I apologize, I read the article and figured it was a repost from December. Probably just a case of lazy Journalism. There are a hundred or so people just on this board that could have written the article 2 months ago.

I know for a fact Rich Rodriguez was not offered the job at South Carolina. I don't claim to be too connected, but this I know for sure.

Herman has already said he won't leave Houston unless it's for s job at a top 10 program. Why go 7-5 or 8-4 at a middling power 5 program as opposed to 10-2 or better at a non power 5 program.

This is really the dumbest shite I've ever heard.
Herman, a Mensa member, was not smart enough to see that SC was a complete when they were just finishing up a 1-7 conference season. The frick. Do yins even listen to this shite you spew?
Look, I know that you were all doing everything you possibly could to deflect the huge embarrassment that your coaching search was but at least make this shite somewhat sensible.
Turned down left and right by four different coaches then end up with the literal butt of every Rant coaching joke for the last two years. All this after assuring everyone of a HR hire.
I get that you're mad, but just channel that towards your denial that boom isn't complete shite.

Nah, Muschamp was their man from the day Spurrier walked off a coward.

Damn, dude. Why don't you understand this?
We are not mad about this. We haven't talked about this in quite a while. We moved on.
And being a member of MENSA is not the be all, end all of decision making at all. Trust me on that one.

You seem overly concerned about our coaching situation. Is it because there is a bunch of nobodies coaching at Mizzou now?
Pinkel coached up 2 and 3 stars. Now Mizzou will only have 2-3 stars lol

I wouldn't be mad, I'd be disappointed. All that time to search for a coach and the best you guys could do was boom?
