Now Florida gets to find out what it's like to be in our shoes.

Wow that is pretty tight.

All-Time SEC Championships

28- Alabama
13- Georgia
13- Tennessee
12- LSU
8- Auburn
8- Florida
6- Ole Miss
2- Kentucky
1- Miss. St.

Florida was best in SEC in '84, '85 and '90.

Should be 11 SEC titles but we know how the SEC does.

Thanks to Auburn for standing up for UF back then though.
Vols U suck.

To be fair, Mizzou was placed in the East. Would you rather Missouri’s path or A&M’s most years?

Believe it or not, Mizzou has played more SEC Divisional opponents that FINISHED in the AP Top 25 since joining the league than Texas A&M has.

This does NOT include cross-divisional games played sine I'd have to go back in and count those one-by-one, but in terms of Divisional contests since 2012, here are how many games each team has played against FINAL AP Top 25 ranked teams since 2012 (includes CURRENT ranking for 2020):

27- Arkansas
26- Kentucky
25- Miss St.
25- Missouri
25- S. Carolina
25- Tennessee
24- Ole Miss
24- Vanderbilt
23- Texas A&M
22- Auburn
21- Georgia
21- Florida
20- LSU
18- Alabama

With that said, Aggie has played 9 divisional games against teams that finished in the AP Top 5 compared to Mizzou playing just 3 such opponents.

There are quite a few times the "Best" team didn't win the SEC Title.... Yes, you were probably best in '84, '85, and '90, but you also won a Title in 1993 in a year in which Auburn can claim being the "best" that didn't get to claim the title.

You put so much thought into something that doesn't really exist.

You haven’t earned the right to say what does or doesn’t exist. You are still a newbie in the SEC and the Big 6 is very real

I don't have a problem with the facts. I'm suggesting that Bama is too good for the SEC like you guys are always reminding us.
It's not up to Bama to leave. It's up to the rest of you guys to step up or ship out.

LSU has. It's the only program consistently moving up the list over the past 20 years.

I agree. Bama, Tennessee, LSU, and Georgia have always been in that upper echelon... at least since the 1960s or so. Ole Miss used to be in the elite group, but beginning in the early 1960s, they slipped and slipped hard.

Auburn and Florida would be the newest additions. They had to earn their way into the group, and they both did it by having several sustained years of success/championships.

In 1982, Auburn had won just 50.9% of its SEC games and only had one SEC Championship. They did have a National Championship just 25 years prior and a Heisman winner about a decade earlier, so that did garner them some respect. But their resume was certainly lacking.

They joined the group by dominating the SEC between 1983-1990... boosting their SEC W% up to 54.5% by 1990 (by virtue going 38-8-2 in SEC Play), plus winning 4 SEC Championships during this 7-year period.

Florida also catapulted themselves into the group in the 1990s. At the start of the 1990 season, the Gators had an all-time losing record in SEC play (48.1%) and had never won an SEC Title. They dominated the '90s and early 2000s, winning 8 SEC Titles and 3 National Titles between 1990 and 2008.

It's going to take a similar surge in success from A&M to join the group. One good season is not doing it.
