So it looks like Florida statues determine a "child" to be anyone who is unmarried under the age of 18.

At my previous high school we had kids that were in college classes at UofL and JCTC (community college) as young as 15. And several who graduated early to enroll full-time, especially during COVID.
With UF being a decent academic school, I wouldn't be surprised if you have a decent amount of 17-year-olds on campus.

I was referring to Kitna. People don't need to jump to conclusions about his charges, yet. It could be the situation you envisioned.
