If they did that survey now I bet the LSU number would be a little lower and A&M would replace Ole Miss and be a lot higher than 26%.
I would expect A&M to be higher then LSU. We have more recent history with LSU, but you have to go back to 1965 to find the last time we played them before joining the SEC.

You might want to look again. HM is not quite being a rival.

I'm 62 and a graduate of LSU. Ole Miss was a very heated rivalry game. LSU once printed Go To Hell Ole Miss buttons. Ole Miss was always LSU biggest rival, even when Tulane was in the SEC. LSU even had a Go To Hell Ole Miss week when us male dorm residents used to go to the female dorms for panty raids. I definitely agree with this Ole Miss poster that you young ones don't know crap, plus many of you so called LSU "fans" never attended LSU. I'm the firm believer that the true LSU fans are the ones that actually attended LSU. I had to study my arse off plus pay tuition to be able to go to LSU. How many of you so called LSU "fans" had to take a job to be able to attend college? I bet none of you. I'd love to see my responses on this topic.

Arkansas has won three of the last six against LSU.
LSU shouldn't have to play Arkansas every year!

I'm a little surprised at how few Georgia fans said Auburn over Florida.

LSU - 67.8%
This blows my mind. I thought it was just an interweb thing with the Hog fans.
You have to remember a very large portion of the Arkansas fanbase are just sheep. It's why I prefer going to non-Arky sites. We have a large number of mouth breathers that just do what they're told. We were told that LSU would be our rival so we accepted it and transferred our SWC hatred onto LSU. If the SEC would have kept our Tennessee game then UT would have been the highest on that list. I actually liked a lot of the LSU fans I met, the Tenn. ones can fall off a cliff.
There just happens to also be a shite ton of worthless LSU fans as well, and the Arky fans you find that come are are the madmen of the fanbase. We're the fighters and the sluggers. We don't mind the dirty work, getting a busted lip and maybe bleeding from our nose a bit. The adrenaline from the fight makes you feel alive.
It'd be interesting to see that poll done again, and like another poster said it's kinda cyclical depending on how your team has been doing against another and what the stakes have been.
Right now I think our fanbase isn't concerned about other teams though they're taking to the Mizzou rivalry already. The volleyball game last week drew the 2nd largest crowd ever for a vball game. We're more worried about getting our ship patched up and just finally getting things right post Lou Holtz.

we got more rivals than anyone

im old enough to respect long time rivals, but hot damn, it's been since before we stepped foot on the moon and got color televisions since an LSU - Ole Miss game really meant something.
of course id like to see old rivals get reinstated, so it wouldn't hurt my feelings to see the two of you get feisty with each other once again. But to try to recall some Halloween game from the era of grease in your hair and bobby socks, come on. True rivalries deserve better than this.

2003.
Also, they did shite all over my birthday one week after we upset #1 Florida at night in Death Valley. At his coach's show the week after the Florida game, DiNardo reminded everyone that LSU choked against Tennessee the week after Billy Cannon's infamous run. He had a knack for self fulfilling prophecies. That was a pretty deflating punch in the nuts by Ole Miss. Early morning JP game too.

well, I didn't say when I got my first color television here in Alabama.
again, I really would like to see a lot of rivalries continued / rekindled in the SEC.
