FLST, SMU, Clemson, Miami are suddenly very attractive additions for either conference.

no they aren't

-SEC & Big 10 already told Fla ST & Clemson no, that's why they dropped the idea of leaving the conference

-SMU had to raise 100M just so they could join the ACC (without a ACC share), and now the SEC would take them

I don’t think it should be either. More mouths to feed means smaller paychecks to member schools. UNC as a brand is a value add so they get consideration. SMU and UVA could be brought on with lesser rev share deals and built up (UVA in particular can be a value add in basketball and baseball). Clemson, FSU, Miami, etc are all notable brands but don’t add enough value relative to what we would have to share with them to keep them competitive.

Kevin Warren isn't the one that makes that decision, university presidents do

And, Warren has been the Chicago Bears President for around a year now.

I’d bet you’re wrong on this assumption but let’s say they don’t it’d still severely hamper the secs middle class. If the big ten pumps money and media into fsu Miami or Clemson they instantly have more media cred and money. Florida barn Tenn would feel it alot but it’d be devastating to miss usce and Kentucky being competitive

That’s why I included Tony petite the current guy, and noted former beside Warren. Pretty clear cut

Yes but petite is the mouthpiece for said presidents and he is letting you know what the majority is saying.

Send them back to the Big 12 where they’ve always belonged. Send Mizzou with them. Replace with UNC and consider adding SMU and UVA. Leave the rest to flounder.

Never thought about kicking Missouri out. Hell, I didn't even know Missouri was in the SEC.

Looks like a lot of speculation from an Indian writer for a web site (comprised of mostly Indians) that started out covering tennis. Let's just say I'm skeptical.

I hate what all this shite has done to the landscape of the NCAA. The Big 10 and SEC aren't Conferences..they are now Leagues..

All of the nook and crany regional flavor of Americana now reduced down to a mere Mason-Dixon line Playoff where two whores hog all the entries.

I'm all for Coastal Elite/Leftists myopathy,etc..biting themselves in the @ss..but this Southern redneck wishes the PAC and ACC survived and thrived.

Honestly, I'm with you. I wish we could go back to the old Big 8, but we can't.

Well that could be debated.

UNC is the only undeniable.

If SEC goes to 20 you could have 4 divisions of 5 teams each.

Each division plays its division - 4 games.
Each division plays a whole other division - 5 games against an entire other division.... play a different division each season.

9 conference games.

4 team bracket of the 4 division winners to see who wins the SEC.

SEC winner plays Big Ten champ for the Natty @ the Rose or Sugar.

The Von Erichs NWA/WCC in Texas, the Skandar Akbars and Dusty Rhodes Mid South, Bruno Sammartino WWF, etc..were all better products and had more room/canvas/stage to sell..

When regional, and not smothered out under one big consolidated roof competing for limited stage time.

Oklahoma has always been a defacto Texas school living on Dallas and Texas talent..

Put in a crowded SEC, good luck retaining the fantasy of former win percentage glory even in NIL era..welcome to your Nebraska in Big10 and Georgetown post John Thompson era!

The Big Ten doesn’t have an endless money stream to pump into those programs though. They’re already operating on deferred payment timelines with Oregon and Washington and their TV numbers this year are not about to win them a bigger commitment fron Fox and CBS at the renegotiation table.

Maybe not as much Miami but fsu Clem have been pretty competitive since the bcs era kicked off. They’ve been getting these results with no real media push and half the capital of their sec peers. No one said endless supply of money the big ten rev distribution is higher than the sec and twice what fsu and Clem currently get. Simple math. Couldn’t say for sure but with an easier schedule than most sec schools, the same money and media push, and access to same area of recruits it’d be hard to see them not improving more, and unfortunately it’d be at the expense of sec middle class

He will be gone in 2 years. This is an attention grab to generate some interest in a bad football program. Will be as relevant as Colorado. Fun to talk about until they get steamrolled by a real football team. Retire
